repooc seiht nonnahs - God bless his family! People want to think of Omaha as a small town type of city, but it really has turned into a very dangerous place! It's sad....
iii dnuldeh trebor - Lol are they gunna talk about how police use deadly force too often when its unnecessary? Or will they talk about how the robbery suspect had a plastic fake gun and they thought it was justifiable to shoot 30 plus rounds like the wild west
iii dnuldeh trebor - Killed by police (plastic guns cant kill people, but police can and do)
drawoh luap - Welcome to Omaha NeBlastya.

- EXCLUSIVE: It was the worst case of child prostitution Nebraska has ever seen. One man was brav (Type: photo | Published: 2014-09-16T01:47:31+0000)
WOWT 6 News: EXCLUSIVE: It was the worst case of child prostitution Nebraska has ever seen. One man was brave enough to report the mother behind it & help investigators lock her up. Malorie Maddox-WOWT sits down with him tonight. Please show him your support. He saved three little girls. FULL COVERAGE: wowt.com/a?a=267261151Comments:
sbal ycub nwad - Thank you, sir...you stood up when countless other so-called men did not! You are a hero!
evehcs yelsgnillib asil - Special place in hell for the mother and the men who played a part in victimizing those kids.
sreym .k rehtaeh - The MOTHER behind it? I don't understand how any mother could do such a monstrous thing. I don't understand how any person ever could do such a thing, but it's even more puzzling/shocking/frustrating when it's a mother of a sweet little girl. Like how black does your heart have to be to do something like that to your own child...
nosirrah hgielak - God bless him and those little girls !!
llenik led - You, sir, are a hero - you deserve the Medal of Honor!
ardom aned - If you need to throw up repeatedly , read this article! Thank God she was caught, but the irreparable damage is already done. Poor babies.
smada eittocs - I wanted to donate to this guy, when you first posted the story. You labeled him as homeless, and I don't think "homeless and lonely" is how a hero should live.
If Cory still needs help, PLEASE let me/us know
namkcalb lp - Thank you for your strength and courage! It takes a special man to stand up against evil!
ppats cire - Horrible, yes. But I'd say the Franklin Credit a Union scandal would be tough to beat. But, if you have low people in the right places you can cover up about anything.
eiram ylrac - What a great man!!! That took courage to come forward.
sdleif gadnos yram - How brave of him!
senoj yarrum bed - He is a saint and is a wonderful person. I hope they fry this so called mother. He is a true hero.
kcaah seniah yllek - How heartbreaking! Thank God for this Good Samaritan!! I will be praying for those precious children.
iksnileiz lhu ydnic - AMAZING! God bless him
ytrehod'o anig - God bless you, sir.
taknav nhah yram - Thank God he reported her; hopefully her girls are getting therapy!.
ttoille rednaxela - This is sickening and sad but Wait so no one has heard of the "boys town conspiracy" ???? Peter citron Alan Baer Larry king...The Franklin child prostitution ring satanic abuse????? Omaha has a disgusting history of abuse that the late 80's bush administration and the American government covers up to this day.... It's great that there are people willing to put their life/ integrity on the line to stop this inhuman behavior... Make sure you're are watching your backs and opening your eyes to the grotesque nature of evil men. God Bless
oirelav-nrutnim haras - When I worked with kids coming from abuse, there was a young girl whose mother pimped her out. The poor girl not only lost her innocence, she contracted herpes. This sick animals that do this kind of stuff must be locked away for the rest of their miserable life.
acsag allidap eirelav - Amen to this man, May God Bless him. I hope more people follow suit if they know of anyone doing this to any child. It seems like cases are being dismissed by children who can't tell the whole truth out of fear and lie to authorities... They do because they probably think if their own mother doesn't protect them who can... So sad but glad it's over for these three girls
rrab reztip nibor - thanks for doing the right thing
nitsua annod - God put you in a place to save these girls .
- Kevin Fischer, a waiter at Charlestons, found a wad of cash on the floor. $1900! He did the rig (Type: photo | Published: 2014-09-16T20:45:07+0000)
WOWT 6 News: Kevin Fischer, a waiter at Charlestons, found a wad of cash on the floor. $1900! He did the right thing and turned it in. See what happens next...wowt.com/a?a=275336061Comments:
nosark htur - You people are ridiculous, since when did it become the norm to get something for doing what's morally right in the first place? A sense of entitlement is exactly part of the problem in many instances in this day and age. Being honest should always be the rule not an exception because you think you or someone is owed for being a decent human being.
namwen eimaj - He should of got more than a $50 tip.
reyemenneub nosretep ycnan - How he feels about his own honesty and integrity will be worth more than any tip he could have been given.
lhadejlil ymmat - I would have given him 100...but it is good karma regardless
trawets ylrac - I wonder if the guy asked him if he had change for a $100 bill so he could only tip him $50
reiger ekaj - The last I heard $50 was a lot of money, not to mention good people do the right thing without expecting a monetary reward.
Nice work Kevin. May the good karma pay you forward 10 fold.
One more reason to love Charlestons.
gimor aned - That's call integrity! Good for you Kevin :)
euam adnil - The guy who lost the money should have given Kevin at least a 15% tip. What a jerk! Not Kevin--the other guy--the one who is too cheap to buy a wallet and give the waiter a nice reward. Karma works both ways. Just sayin'.
notrom annod - Doing the right thing, is always right! God bless you!
resuahgne nosaj - Just because a person had $1900 doesn't mean they're loaded and have all kinds of money to give away. They could've been saving up to buy something with cash. Geesh people give it a rest, both parties involved did the right thing.
ressun llad .l icart - I think $50 is awesome! We don't know the circumstances of the person who lost that money. Good for the waiter! He is right. .... honesty and good karma is worth way more in the long run. Nice to hear stories like this vs another shooting or robbery!
naols nairb - Sad that we have to celebrate people doing the right thing when it should be expected.
htarhcnum nehcriksew ydnic - Great job that man should of gave you more than 50 dollars
ttenneb tnarg - I was going to click on this until you said "See what happens next..."
tnias leoj - Why is this story worthy. Same exact thing happened where I work and guess what my co worker did. He turned it in. Only difference was it was $1500. Good moral character should be standard.
ffodrot ellehcim - I wish I had that much cash to carry around 😊. I'm glad there are honest people out there
rebierhcs nerak - Way to go, Kevin!
notsop ennaid - God bless you today and everyday.
sddod elyk - should have kept it after getting that!!... atleast gave him $200 or more.. could have been out $1900
reih .w htiek - Solid guy. Even better picture. Kevin M Fischer
gulk hteb - Doing the right thing is always the right thing to do. Great job Kevin. Thanks for covering this WOWT. We all need more kindness and goodness in this world!
- The Nebraska Supreme Court has disbarred former Omaha state Sen. Brenda Council for using campa (Type: photo | Published: 2014-09-12T15:13:51+0000)
WOWT 6 News: The Nebraska Supreme Court has disbarred former Omaha state Sen. Brenda Council for using campaign money to gamble at casinos, overturning a decision to allow her to practice law after a one-year license suspension. Do you agree with the high court's ruling or is too harsh? wowt.com/a?a=274897091Comments:
ehor ydde - Good...anyone who uses money from any tax payers for their personal usage should be disbarred!
serrot solrac - Should of got jail time... but hey I guess she not like us average citizens. .
drahcir hteb - Disagree. Sad to see this happen. She has done so much good in the past and worked hard for Omaha Schools and Nebraska. She has a disease. She was wrong, admitted it, repaid it, and sought help. To dis bar her is a harsh punishment.
dlaboeht nesnaitsirhc irol - Makes me sad. I worked for Brenda and she is a wonderful person. Gambling addiction is an awful thing that has affected my family personally. I pray she finds help and peace.
nosredna nhoj - If anyone is familiar with her history, she has had plenty of chances with her gambling problems.
sukinim atir - just lets a person to know if you steal you will be punished regardless who you are or what color your skin is....you do wrong you must pay like all people. justice does prevail.
ttirrem ycnan - Agree. She was a trusted official, that may or may not have a disease. She had a responsibility to the public and was looked at as a role model. She must face the consequences of her actions which should have been disbarment in the first place. Now she needs to pick herself up and be a better person and be a role model to all that encounter consequences from poor decision making. We all make mistakes, we should all pay for our mistakes and learn from them.
rehtam yram - she can spend her own money! Too bad we don't feel the same way about cheating husbands/wives in the government
sitnep bocaj eirual - Ethical violation - she should be disbarred.
odagled suertemed - Gambling is a terrible addiction, I hope she finds peace with herself.
rolyat-yremogtnom lorsc - It's waaaaay too harsh!! I do not believe that taking Brenda ' s livelihood away is going to help the issue at all.
drawyah ffej - Should've got jail time
smada enahs - She gambled and really lost! Let her get what the average person would have gotten for being a thief
htimsnegnilk nivek - Should have went to jail! Shes a crook!
gulk hteb - If the Nebraska Supreme Court is made up of judges, and judges all start as attorneys, then it seems that she was judged by her peers. That seems appropriate and fair.
drahcir hteb - I don't think she used tax payers money. She used campaign funds. Big difference.
renyoj atina - Gambling is an illness. It is an addiction. She needs help. Then Nebraska can worry about her license.
nodnarb einalem - Not too harsh, just sad, could've been a role model now just another example.
xocliw nire - Completely agree! People should NOT get away with just a slap on the wrist because they held a position of power. If anything, a person who is supposed to command such respect and speak for others, should be held to a higher standard than the average joe.
trauts inot - It's what needed to happen.
wobarg ekim - Agreed ben grey can follow what a worthless bunch

etamuhs-etnomed assilem - Aw! The story sounded very familiar... sometimes I feel like it's worse for us moms knowing while pregnant that something is wrong.. but once these babies are born they really give us the strength and courage we need to fight right along side of them! Please don't ever stop telling these stories of these fighters!
kcarrub yllehs - God works in mysterious ways! God bless :)
etamuhs-etnomed assilem - Malorie Maddox you do such a wonderful job telling these stories of these heart warriors! Prayers for that miracle baby and the family..

nosliw cire - Beautiful baby boy!!!!
setnavrec acinom - Again another miracle! Thank God for the parents strength and Faith ! God bless their family⛪
xoddam eirolam - Thank you all for the kind comments about Wyatt's story. He truly is a miracle. Here is a link to Heart Heroes, an organization founded by two Omaha moms. Today, they have donated more than 10,000 capes to children with congenital heart defects!
gineok aicrag eilloh - God has plans for that adorable little guy. He's meant for something great
tnuh reuab eymmas - My son had svt in utero. He came early and they got his heart controlled by a cocktail of meds for his first year and then the next 2 years he was on 1 heart medication which he has out grown his svt and hopes that he is not one of the children that can redevelop the symptoms. We were lucky that he did not need surgery.
rialb adnerb - Awwww...he's a cutie-patootie! 💙 Continued blessings on Baby Wyatt. 😊
nosnhoj yhtak - Brianna Goebel I'm a Gramma of 4 yr old and can't imagine what ur going thru my prayers for u and ur family also

WOWT 6 News: Burger King Japan unveils it's new all-black burger. Black bun, black cheese, black sauce (made from squid-ink.) Would you eat it?Comments:
pihsneknalb leahcim - That's what Burger King patties have tasted like for years, so now it just looks like it tastes.
thcarbla latsyrc - I would like to think I'd try anything once, but I just can't get past the black cheese.
tdragnurb ettenaj - Is this considered racist??
eseer somij - Mickey D's White Chicken Sandwich….lol
sreffej naes - sounds fishy! Spongebob Mr Krabs Colored Krappy Patties
rolyat sitruc - looks gross !!!!!!! keep it in Japan where it belongs...
nosneb lyrehc - Not in this lifetime or any other.
snevets ynattirb - Gross... Looks like a moldy burger of nastiness.
zednanreh ttam - Theyre calling it...the big nig
releggneh arret - God only knows what kind of meat that is...
ttoille sirhc - What's funny, is that people around the world find our eating habits repulsive yet no one is willing to try something else.
nosnhoj itsehgen aihpos - Well most farmed salmon is color-enhanced and many of mass-produced vegetables & fruits are made to look 'perfect' with coloring & whatever else. Yellow American cheese didn't come out the cow that yellow and it's not that color because of aging. So I say a little squid ink can't be that terrible.
yenolam nirak - Kelly Maloney Heather Moore Hamtak
nosnibor ecyot - They come up with ANYTHING.
ikselarok kcin - I'll eat it if its on the dollar menu
ekcol nairb - It's probably healthier then what is served in the US.
enruob mik - Perfect for Japan. Squid ink is very Asian.
lezc ddot - hellz no com on noww
nidlog ggerg - Laurie, I think you know the answer to that.
namledeis enotserif eirual - Gregg and Julie: Would you?
sunah thgirw ydolem - My mom said I couldn't say I won't like it if I haven't even tried it, BUT I'm sure this was not what she had in mind!

- UPDATE: County Attorney Don Kleine has ruled that the homeowner was justified in fatally shooti (Type: link | Published: 2014-09-09T16:30:10+0000)
WOWT 6 News: UPDATE: County Attorney Don Kleine has ruled that the homeowner was justified in fatally shooting an intruder yesterday morning. Read more here: http://www.wowt.com/home/headlines/Intruder-Extremely-Critical-After-Shooting-274328641.htmlComments:
stak reywas eniarrol - Intruder kicked in their door and came in their house I would say owner had the right to shoot him
nnamedreib tap - It should be okay to defend your home and family without fear of reprisal! If they don`t want to get shot, stay out of other people`s homes and stealing!
mloh ekim - Good. No homeowner should be charged for shooting and injuring/killing an intruder in their home. If an individual is prepared to unlawfully enter someone's home, they should also be prepared to die.
sddod elyk - somebody comes in my house , bring a body bag... i would hate to take a life but wouldnt stop me if myself and/or kids were threaten !!
nibyr nikal-ahcum tap - Hopefully this will send a message to the thugs that want to break into your homes. I've had enough of them doing it !!!
nesnej yoj - Good. Last two shootings were of homeowners protecting themselves. Were moving in the right direction.
enialb lehcar - I can't blame him at all for shooting the guy! He busted down his door! And his 4 yr old daughter was home. I agree with everyone else. if you're gonna bust into someone's house, be prepared to die.
nesnej aiek - Protecting your family and what you work hard for should NEVER be a crime!
hguabla ardnas - Yes Ashley Welch...you are correct. He made a BAD choice. He played Russian Roulette with someone else's finger on the trigger. He KICKED in a door to an INNOCENT FAMILIES HOME and ENTERED IT. He did NOT stand on the steps and knock, he VIOLENTLY kicked it in. NOW, I ask you THIS...If THIS was YOUR home and you did NOT know this man, would you HONESTLY share the exact same feeling as you do right now. NO...you would NOT. You would want justice done for being violated. You have NO idea what was going through that mans mind when he KICKED in that door. He could of hurt or KILLED that whole family. Would your feelings STILL be the same? The shooter protected his family and his home... from a man that made a BAD choice. You say this is awful...I say "Job well done!!" ~ I would do the same and have absolutely NO second thoughts or remorse for pulling the trigger.
arreceb eigna - Glad to know that if legally we owned a gun we can shoot an intruder or burgler to protect our family and not face charges as long as it was in self defense an I am mean truly self defense I live in midtown and been thinking about owning a gun in case someone broke in one night I am especially afraid for my 2 and 4 year olds safety
notsgnivil nhoj - I would happily spend the rest of my life in prison if it meant that I protected my kids when they most needed it. He did the right thing.
kcabrettu enahsdna ydnic - A life lost is always sad, but I whole heartedly support this home owner & Mr Kleine. An intruder would meet the same fate at my house.
saiburravoc eehs - Ashley Welch he want thinking about the impact on his own family when be chose to break into another family's home was he?
nesnetrom nasus - Let it be known that this is the same welcome he would've gotten at my home as well. If you're willing to cross the threshold of someone elses world without cause or invite, be prepared to die. Society has no one to blame but themselves for the way things are today. We live in a world where people answer their doors with weapons and drive the streets while being armed. Those of us that work hard continue to struggle while those that steal others hard work continue to thrive. I don't get it....
nworb yrolg - If more homeowners would shoot to kill maybe these "scumbags" would think twice before breaking into a home.
lliwen nhoj - Sorry another life is lost but not sorry as to what the owner did.The thought of even thinking about charging the homeowner was wrong .Prayers for the intruders family and the homeowners in such a sad situation for both of them.
gniwe a nnyl - yeah, he should be. This guy broke in. You should be able to defend your home and family.
mal adnama - Good for him. If you kick down a door of a gun owners home, expect this every time.
selyob eiggam - That shouldn't have even been a question. If someone is wrongfully entering your home you have the right I protect yourself and your family.
llerraf eima - Ashley Welch he had kids and grand kids hmmm wasn't setting a good example was he?
kcamroccm sirhc - It's called natural selection.
Smart people legally arm themselves, thus increasing their odds of survival.
Stupid people shouldn't breed When they do this scumbag is the result.
Chalk one up for the good guys.

namgaw adnil - You know what I hate about THEIVES they go out and steal from hard working people who get up every morning and go to work you know it is a sin to be LAZY and it is a sin to steal
ytrehguod leahcim - They got robbed on their surveillance system.
aicrag-reprah hteb - See everyone!!!! It doesn't just happen in north O!!! It's everywhere!!
namhciw evad - Too bad someone didn't have a gun to execute them on the spot.
redyns haras - If you recognize any of these fuzzy objects please notify your local popo.
renraw ynot - Millions of dollars in jewelry, and a $25 Radio Shack camera. Looks like shadow people to me.
trebbuh-repooc acinom - @Christopher--No nice places to rob in north Omaha? That is the most ridiculous thing I've heard today. You win.
eiv al tse'c - @Amy clouse... I was being sarcastic. Obviously, I'd report if I thought I knew. The point was... The pics are terrible and the poor quality system tells me that this business wasn't worried about identifying criminals
hcirdreh tdrahnier nalyd bokaj - Wish there was a guy nearby with a permit to carry with some good aim for legs
eiv al tse'c - *Shrugs* This establishment didn't really care to id folks as the video quality is atrocious. They didn't care... why should we pick our brains... ijs
tloh sucram - Shits getting real old
notgniba nairb - Seriously businesses, Nebraska allows concealed carry. Start letting your employees who have a permit and extra training carry at work and this will stop happening.
robat mada - You can buy a better surveillance system than that at costco for a couple hundred bucks.
They should use their insurance payment to buy some HD cams.
trawets haras - Pics are horrible
narocroc aner - Yeah... Black and Gray sweatshirts... I'm sure someone will recognize them right away! Get a better surveillance system.
kezcrews ybaoh enitsirhc - Please get some better video equipment.
snaem ecynaej - Looks like the staff needs to conceal and carry permits
nanahcub yma - That explains why I saw able-1 flying over my house before noon
sevarg semaj mailliw - It looks like the same crew that robbed the Jared's jewelers in park meadows CO 2 months ago. Same tools too. Please forward reward.

WOWT 6 News: Update: A person is reportedly in extremely critical condition after a shooting near 72nd & Sorensen Parkway on Monday. According to police, a homeowner shot a stranger who rang the doorbell and walked inside the home. Homicide detectives are on scene investigating. Neighbors say the intruder kicked the door in. They also say a similar break in happened a couple of months ago across the street. More details below.Comments:
ekztiw ttam - So a person attempting to rob a house gets shot by a homeowner and the robber is the victim? Very poorly worded. A robber is not a victim. Stop the politically correct garbage.
rotsap yelkrem acissej - More like...suspect shot in critical condition by victim in a home invasion
snrub nottud esined - Victim??? That headline is a bit disappointing. He is a burglar, the homeowner who defended himself is the victim. :/
ztluhcs ztiwekcob ycnan - The victim here is the home owner who the criminal was attempting to rob. WOWT, please refer to criminals as criminals and not victims.
oj avaj - WOWT STOP calling criminals victims ... I agree I as a viewer am DONE with you!
ikswokulk ja - God, their update still calls the burglar a victim. This is garbage. Unliked, unfollowed, and a lost viewer. Thanks a lot, wowt.
hciorb rebma - So since he was shot because he was breaking the law and trying to steal ppl's things hes a victim? Headline should read Burglar shot not Victim extremely critical after shooting. He was no victim, if he was trying to steal!
ardom aned - The real victims( Homeowners) deserve positive recognition! Job well done !!
nella sirhc - I bet it didnt take 38 shots!!
htims eirrac - They aren't scared of the police or jail. Now maybe they will be scared of the homeowners.
ttivael ttam - Good for the homeowner. He should have shot him. Break into a home, get shot. When is the family going to come out and say, He was a good Kid, he was changing his life, he never did anything wrong.
yenreit mron - So since you don't know anything yet, you error on the side of the perpetrator. Do us a favor, don't report it if you are going to do that. We don't want your slant. How about, HOMEOWNER DEFENDS HIMSELF AGAINST UNLAWFUL ENTRY! It would be more factual than referring to a robber as a victim!
eztnuok idnas - About time homeowners started standing up to these thugs! And they should not be considered a victim!
buad asset - Used to live right by there. I wish they would try my house and meet my gun. No mercy for idiots. My kids safety is more important and if you want to try entering my home unwelcome you won't leave with a face :)
rolyat eklhad nya - UM the victim here is a 4 year old girl who felt unsafe and will probably always not feel safe in her home because some GUY just walked in. Here Daddy protected her and that will hopefully help. It is common practice for home intruders to knock or ring the bell to see if no one is home. I wish Nebraska had a castle law that would protect home owners and citizens. unfortunately certain people who shall remain unnamed but his initials are Ernie Chambers has fought against this because he cares more about people doing crime then those the crimes are committed against so long as the offender is of a certain race and the victim ( you should look into the definition of this word FYI) is not that certain race. He however does not seem to worry about black on black violence which is sad because innocent children are loosing their lives in neighborhoods that would be much safer if the law had more to stand on. I hope that this father is given a fair trial and that he and his daughter are OK. I carry a CC and the last thing I ever want to have to do is use it. But if it's my life or someone else's I choose me and my loved ones every time.
oh and Here... Ill do your response for you so you don't have to hit copy and paste again
Thank you for your concern. These are preliminary details. Once we learn more information, as in if a crime has or has not been committed, we will be more inclined to label a person as a suspect or robber.
sretep nibor - I saw two police cars racing up 90th to get there and wondered what ws happening. Burglers are getting braver breaking in during broad daylight.
abla ffej - Victim? Are you serious? The homeowner is the victim not the perp who broke in.
htims mada - If he or she was trying to rob the place, then why do you call them a victim! Criminal fits better don't you think!
neelie nire - Don't call this person a victim. Terrible description.
tsrik arabrab - Really great !!! Good for the homeowner !!!
nesnetsirhc ydoj - Good for the homeowner and hopefully he doesn't get charged with anything stupid. We r suppose to have the right to protect our homes

relssek k aluap - Don't rob people and you won't be killed....goes back to thought shalt not steal!
mahtahc mas - Alleged? Try confirmed, dead criminal
Hi. We're the liberal media. We try and manipulate dialogue by turning victims into criminals and criminals into victims.
leinadcm sirref einalem - If, I was home with my 4 yr old, I sure as hell, do whatever it took to protect my family!! If that means shooting an intruder, I would!! Don't want to be shot, then don't come in my house!! I don't care if he had family or not, he certainly was thinking of them, while he was thinking off robbing some one!!
zenitram nauj - whats right is right, its unfortunate the intruder died, but he decided to mess with the wrong home owner
adobows hsa - Maybe he shouldn't have done it in the first place
tnegras hteb - Good for the homeowner
dlaw eilyk - He did the right thing protecting his home and family
reihpnal sniggih yellek - There are crimes happening every where...i love living in nebraska, move out if you dont like it!
cnalbel yesdnil - Good. Thank you for saving the taxpayers money!

STATE CONSTITUTIONAL PROVISION
“All persons ... have certain ... rights, among these are ... the right to keep and bear arms for security or defense of self, family, home, and others, and for lawful common defense, hunting, recreational use, and all other lawful purposes, and such rights shall not be denied or infringed by the state or any subdivision thereof.”
Nebraska Constitution art. 1, sec. 1.
srednuas nhoj - If I do not know you and you kick in my door, you will be shot! That my 2nd amendment right to do so. Your welcome, have a nice day.
zenitram yhtac - This is a perfect of example of why we need the right to bear arms
.rj oruazni onid - Well..... Lesson learned
grebretniw sinned - I have firearms... A few of them in fact... I also have a concealed carry permit... If you come into my home uninvited... There is a good chance you will not be leaving on your own two feet... A home is where a person and their family should feel safe and secure....my only decision would have to be which firearm I am gonna grab
rihad selrahc - It should still be a sad day. SOMEBODY DIED. It should be sad. Whether or not he deserved it doesnt matter. There was an article from Iceland I believe, their police force had to kill somebody for the first time EVER, their whole country mourned not only the event but the death of the suspect. Somebody died today and all most of you people can do is crack a joke about how he wont do that again. No empathy from Nebraskan republicans, per usual.
rihad selrahc - These comments make me hate this state and city more and more every day. Yes he was a criminal. Yes he was still a human.
erusarf ymmat - Good for the homeowner! My hubby would've done the same thing to protect our children.
nosredna ecyoj - He won't do that again!!!!
buad asset - Good. That should teach them a lesson! Quit breaking in. We have these things called guns and no mercy
lehcniw sillyhp - I would do what the home owner did. Would never give a burgler a chance to hurt me , family or home. When they break in they are taking chance if getting shot, they dont care if they live or not. Good job to the home owner, you was lucky enough to get him before he got you. Hooray for you.
nroh tra - Maybe that will teach people not to break into a persons house with the intention of robbing or burglarizing them.
- BREAKING: Dr Rick Sacra - American doctor with Ebola - expected to arrive Friday morning in Oma (Type: link | Published: 2014-09-04T21:15:28+0000)
WOWT 6 News: BREAKING: Dr Rick Sacra - American doctor with Ebola - expected to arrive Friday morning in Omaha to be treated at the Nebraska Medical Center. http://www.wowt.com/home/headlines/Med-Center-to-Address-Possible-Transfer-of-Ebola-Patient-274003311.htmlComments:
yelok ikkin - The Nebraska medical center has a completely segregated unit for the bio containment. The facility is on it's own air handling system and everything is handled in the unit itself.. It's not going to put Omaha at risk; we have the most highly trained staff for this kind of situation. I hope he has a safe recovery!
sdrawde 'yelir' einahpets - A shout out to the NMC! Honored that our hometown medical professionals and facilities can take care of this patient. God speed to the patient!!
etihw nitsua - I wonder if Ebola treatment is covered by CHI or BCBS......
eiram arat - Unless you plan on sleeping with the man I think you will be ok.. I say we should be proud that NMC is recognized as one the best hospitals in the country..
revilo cire - The tinfoil hats are out in force, I see.
kcebediug liw - I can't believe how many people comment without having ANY kind of education on the subject matter. ..... idiots....
noslrac inalem - Educate yourselves before you freak out http://www.cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/outbreaks/guinea/qa.html?mobile=nocontent
sreih nerb - What if he was your husband, dad, brother or son or more importantly, the father of your child(ren). Where would you want him then?
keram nitsud - totally against this situation, send him to Georgia as planned.
eloginad adnarim - How awesome is it that he's being treated at the NMC?! This makes me proud to be a Nebraskan! Praying for a safe recovery!
semirg nosnhoj ikkin - Everyone needs to stop, take a deep breath, and educate themselves on Ebola. No doubt it is a very serious disease but it is not airborne and is spread by contact with bodily fluids. UNMC is a renowned medical center and I'm sure will take all precautions necessary. No need to hide in your doomsday bunkers.
sedroc nodnarb - Ebola is only a problem in third world sanitation conditions. We'll be fine.
citnelus yggep - If they are coming to the U.S. They should put them in one place not all over to make people freak out nation wide. Plus who's to say unmc doctors won't make the same mistakes this person did?
suhein elohcin - I am proud to say I work for The Nebraska Medical Center and have complete trust that these well trained staff members can handle this.
trawets ik - I've been hospitalized at NMC on three different occasions, and "extraordinary care, extraordinary medicine" is exactly what happened during all three stays. I have nothing but the utmost faith that The Nebraska Medical Center can and will handle this without issue.
renrut yelhsa - Good luck UNMC you got this!!
niwdog repip aseret - Hope his recovery is a quick as possible!
hpesoj yram - Worry more about West Nile, E. Coli and the flu.
lennam airolg - Omaha is lucky to have such good health care.
smada divad - I thought the Atlanta hospital did just fine...
ahamo m ffej - Congratulations to Dr. Phil Smith and Dr, Angela Hewlett for the great job they did on the press conference for this historic event. It proves that Dr. Smith was a visionary when he proposed and pushed for the NBCU to be built.

WOWT 6 News: BREAKING: Dr. Rick Sacra, a missionary, will land in Omaha tomorrow morning. The doctor is infected with Ebola. His friends call him the bravest man they've ever known. Please show him support tonight as he continues to fight for his life. Full Coverage: wowt.com/a?a=274003311Comments:
neslo ellivremos ennovy - Welcome to Nebraska Dr Sacra. I am praying for you, your family and the health care providers that are taking care of you. May you all feel Gods love and support right now.
eurt hteb - Alright folks, I realize this is scary stuff, HOWEVER, this top notch medical facility & skilled team of professionals deserve the opportunity to do the work they have studied & trained for. I, for one, want them to have the sharpest skills possible in the event that the Heartland is threatened by something similar in the future. Welcome, Dr. Sacra, and let's get after it!!
koorbhsa revert - My question is.. if we shouldnt worry bout ebola infecting anyone here in omaha how did these three doctors get infected? Were they lazy and bypass protocol? Did they follow protocol and still get infected??? Why doesnt the news answer these questions instead of telling us there is nothing to worry about. Obviously there is if 3 doctors who specialize in diseases like this still end up infected.
nayr eiram lilhak - Trever ashbrook^
They were in Liberia, in a unit that was not prepared or equipped to handle this. The bio containment unit here is. Which is why it's important to isolate it and hinder the further spread in an appropriate facility.
Welcome to nebraska, Doctor! I, personally, am honored that we are taking care of you.
rednef sucram - Welcome to Omaha! I wish it was under better circumstances however, I know the fine folks at The Nebraska Medical Center will have you feeling better in no time!
yagub kaank assilem - Omaha is one of only 3 bio containment units in the US equipped to handle Ebola. Atlanta had their turn to use their facility, now it's ours. As they explained in today's news conference, the Ebola outbreak is worsening and it becomes more likely that each of our 3 facilities will be used in the near future. So it's our chance now to treat this patient and gain the additional real-life experience in preparation for potential future patients. This unit at UNMC has trained for years for just this type of situation.
nosrema nej - Two other doctors were treated about two hours from my home here in Georgia and they recovered. I spent 14 years in Omaha and am confident NE Med Center will take all precautions to prevent spread of Ebola and ability to treat the patient. For those of you worried about it being in your area, know that the Ebola virus is spread through exchange of body fluids.....odds are you won't be affected.
akluhim asil - John,
We have the largest biocontainment unit in all of the US. Our unit is the number 1 example for all other units of this kind around the US.
nosna neelloc - You are coming to a world class facility. I hope all goes well in your treatment
mulb einnoc - For all of the ignorant, uninformed people spewing idiocy: they know what he has, how it is spread, how it is prevented, and how it can be treated. UNMC is prepared for this patient. He will be quarantined. You are safe. How many people in Atlanta were infected by the other 2 patients? Do you have any idea how many other REAL dangers are out there everyday?
notrun acnaib - Enough of the praying, lets let the medical team actually do something.
renroh trahseob enitsirhc - When I first heard that an Ebola patient was coming to UNMC I was very proud that our state has the resources to treat this deadly disease. However, after reading some of the ignorant comments that have been posted, I am saddened. Saddened that I am from a state where people have actually no compassion for human life! What happens overseas does effect everyone right here in Nebraska! These brave men and women choose to help the people of Africa that are in need, knowing that if this deadly disease is not contained it will spread all over the world in a matter of months. How many times do you think flights come thru Omaha with passengers that have traveled overseas, perhaps to Africa, each week? With all the safeguards in place I would feel safer at UNMC, than at the local airport! Wake up people, this is 2014!
esac eicul - I was fortunate to have trained in the biocontainment unit in the past. I know the facility and healthcare professionals are prepared. Welcoming this hero to Omaha. You are in the best of hands!
reklaw-repard anin - We fear what we don't understand. If it was your loved one, you would want the best, and we have it here. Research it, there are preventative measures that are taken to stop the spread of the disease. Trust in the staff at UNMC to provide appropriate care to this doctor. They are professionals. Prayers for all involved.
rekrap enaj - Thank you to the people who study science that truly understand how to best treat a serious illness and may the great medical team have him up and going in no time at all. I love science. The most believable miracle on this earth.
nosduh ycats - I am glad that the staff at UNMC can have a chance to experience treating a patient with Ebola. If they don't see it, will they diagnose it and handle it right later in their profession? We are a global society. You can take a plane to anywhere in less than a day. We are not insulated any more. I hope he is treated successfully and well upon arrival.
naireh naej - Dr. Sacra.........I pray for a quick and speedy recovery for you. Welcome to Nebraska.......glad we have a special unit at the med center to help you get better. Thank you for the ministry you do in God's name.
siwel enial - I have huge respect for anyone who risks their life to help save another but we are all human and nobody is perfect. Over 120 medical staff have already died from this AFTER taking many precautions to avoid it. If a single human at UNMC screws up, and someone who's infected ends up walking the streets, we will ALL be screwed. TOTAL NEGLIGENCE to even bring someone infected to this continent. Dumbest thing I've ever heard of. Take those who have been infected to a secure location (like an island) and transport volunteers there. I'm guessing Dr Sacra might even agree with the idea of not putting everyone in jeopardy considering he's a missionary. How did the 250+ medical staff contract it if they are so careful?
serolf ailuj - You can beat Ebola! Many positive thoughts and vibes for you. Nebraska will take great care of you! <3
namkcoow cire - To all those saying it is safe and the people treating him are experts and every precaution had been taking to maintain safety. I'm pretty sure the people that work at nuclear power plants are experts. Every effort is taken to keep radiation contained. As we all know meltdowns have occurred. Radiation has leaked out. Mistakes happen, equipment fails, unforseen things happen. Even if it is 1 in a million chance, is it worth risking the life of millions?
ekip yetak - If people want to pray let them pray. People who don't "believe" you don't have to "believe" but this is not the post to be spreading your sarcasm and hatefulness. AND while I am commenting PLEASE people educate yourself before you comment about Ebola. It spares you sounding ignorant. Thanks
