As any woman will tell you… a good pair of heels can take any outfit to dizz (Type: photo | Published: 2014-01-28T06:50:01+0000 | Likes: 0 | Shares: 64)
TODAY: KILLER HEELS
As any woman will tell you… a good pair of heels can take any outfit to dizzying new heights.
But, as Emma Freedman has discovered... Some experts think they should come with a health warning.
#heels #killer #warning #today9Comments:
Cathy Myors - If you need a warning high heels are bad for your feet......you also need to be told constantly putting a fork into a power point isn't intelligent either. Come on ladies - look at the bloody things. I have no sympathy for anyone who regrets and maims, cuts or deforms themselves in the name of bloody "fashion".
Joanie Somerville - Gordana Duic for a beautiful so called "Lady" you have a pretty nasty stuck up attitude. You must not be a very happy individual if you are having to stoop so low with those mundane remarks. Every woman is beautiful in her own way. Feet and all. Be a real woman and show some respect.
Nina Lawton - Wait till your older!
Diane Billington - I am 49 years old and have worn stilettos since I was 16. I have no feet or posture problems and not once have I hurt myself wearing them. Nothing to do with fashion and everything to do with wearing what I like. Besides if we didn't wear, eat or drink everything we were told was bad for us this would be a really bloody boring life.
Mel Chapman - I cant wear them I never have. I have bad ankles and flat feet even normal shoes hurt my feet after a while. i seriously dont know how you ladies walk around in those dredded things.
Dave Toohey - If a woman feels beautiful, she has self confidence & is happy in her skin, more power to her. High heels or flats, make up or no make up, dress or jeans doesn't change who she is. Beautiful! ;)
Diane Searston - Us short people Emma need all the help we can get.lol
Vanessa Skipworth - Bitches be like!!!!!!!! Bahaha. Get a life ladies. Bitching about someone else bitching makes you none other than a BITCH yourselves. Grow up or do the world a favor and scone yourself in the head with one of your effing heals!
Britt Chapman - The classiest ladies wear flats!! :)
Peita-Lee Bate - Hey Gordana my fat foot want to kick your head!!!! Mole u r just plain UGLY!!!
Clair Galic - Oh for goodness sake!!! Bring real news please! As for the heels! The higher the better! And those green ones are ugly at least you could have used a sexy shoe as an example!!
Nina Lawton - Most women can't even walk in them yet they think they look good but seriously they look stupid
Gordana Duic I don't have fat feet I'm just older & wiser!
Stacey Graham - Gordana Duic you stupid mole. How the f dare you assume that everyone who doesn't like to wear high heels has fat feet. You might like to think about the fact that not all women need to be in heels to look beautiful. But you just look like a cheap hooker in your $40 target heels! Get some class grandma!
Sandy Lambert - Omg! Pet hate? Seeing girls wearing heels they can't walk in! Ewwwww
Kelly Tincknell Ward - They are dangerous even when your not wearing them, I had a fractured foot and was in plaster for 6 weeks due to being stepped on by someone with stilettos :(
Renae N Luc Griffiths - I'm too tall for heals. I look fabulous with out them. Bahahaha
Tenelle Pattel - They're the fugliest shoes I've ever seen...
Marie Malcolm - any chiropractor will tell a woman not to wear high heels
Krystina Worlin-Smith - I wore heels forever until I got pregnant with my kids, my feet swelled and couldn't wear them and went to flats..since the flats, can't wear high heels anymore as they absolutely kill my feet and calf muscles so I just wear flats and you can still look good in them even when you go out and I'm not tall lol, give me flats and thongs any day hehehe
Phillip Davenport - Bloody things ripped all the roof lining in my car.
Megan Jade Lunt - 45 ? I was going to say 60. Was way off

TODAY: TODAY'S TOP STORY North Queensland residents are bracing for the arrival of a mega-storm, with a monsoonal low building in intensity off the coast of Cairns. The area has already been hit with heavy rain and strong winds. Forecasters have warned some towns may experience flooding over the next 36 hours. More details throughout the show. #cyclone #Queensland #today9Comments:
Richard Hayden - It's called sensationalism, anything to make you watch their updates. It's a bloody cyclone we get them every yr or 2, to me hurricane Katrina was a big storm
Andrew Hunter - How can it be Mega? When Yasi was the largest cyclone to hit the Qld Coast. Anything to make people panic buy stuff.
Thomas A Joyce - As a Cairns resident, and a former resident of the Solomon Islands, I will not press your mega panic button.
Tania Mulvaney - Sending out hugs, thoughts & prayers <3
Ron Nelson - Sensationalists! How is it a mega-storm? Prediction is category 1. Give me a break!
Marcella Larizza - God please look over and protect the people of QLD during the storm. Amen
Sarah Kuno - I wouldn't in Any way call it Mega, it's only a Cat 1. Not wise to try freaking ppl out! I'm in Townsville and as long as your prepared there is nothing to worry about!
Elliot Smith - Save the banannas
Jason Malthouse - My Pregnant wife farts harder then this😏
Sarah Stevens - mega ohh for real? no it's going to be a cat one should you be complacent? no but you shouldn't hype it up either. But this cyclone certainly is taking after my stepbrother (who is a Dylan) whole lotta drama for *probably* a whole lotta nothin (Dyl if you see this you know that is meant with every best intention <3)
Brett Berg - Send some of that rain down south
Grant Colledge - A mate in Townsville calls anything less than Yasi " a bit of piss and wind." They're tough up there, they will crack another beer and watch it unfold, without the bullshit hype the media try and drum up
Dallace Menchin - Take Care. And stay safe.
Graham Martin - everyone is going about their normal lives and just keeping an eye on the weather. It's the stupid fucking NEWS people that are making all the hype. You notice most of the CRAP comes from Sydney or Melbourne TV. They are a bunch of Morons!!!!!!
Paul Pud Nebauer - What's the go with the sensationalism? "mega storm"? It's a tropical cyclone. Call it such and what category it is. Geez.
Jaz Glohe - Be safe Mitch N Penny
Jessie Day - I have told her but I'll be shocked if she has! Hahahaha
Tina Tsi - Trif & Juanita lucky we are not there !!!
Taylor Pinfold - Nothing much to worry about just yet Elise, still sunny and blue sky's. Tomorrow will be a different story though :)
Raymond Goggi - Just another day in paradise. Standard north Queensland weather.
Lisa Carman - Stay safe James Stork Kelly Stork xx
- MARRIAGE DEBATE
One couple who have been married for a year and a half have spoken out sayi (Type: photo | Published: 2014-01-28T20:51:47+0000 | Likes: 0 | Shares: 86)
TODAY: MARRIAGE DEBATE
One couple who have been married for a year and a half have spoken out saying their separate sleeping spaces have brought them closer together.
A marriage and family therapist in the US says more than half of all married couples sleep separately.
TELL TODAY - Can sleeping separately save your relationship?
#sleep #relationships #today9Comments:
Tristan Hamson - What more needs to be said......
Jane Costa Newton - Different houses works really well for me too ...
Amy Kelly - Debates like this are all a bit silly, no one knows what works best for any other couple. All of those people saying it leads to divorce and getting on their high horse about 'why get married' need to mind their own business and realise that not everyone does things the way you do. Your way is not perfect, you are not perfect, stop preaching at people like you are better than them. It's condescending and rude.
Bernadette Curtis - My husband would hate it, he hates it when I go away, he can't sleep properly when I'm not next to him.... Rather sweet, been married 27years !
Diane Maree Young - we have slept in seperate rooms for years. Shift work, kids and a snoring husband! I LOVE my sanctuary! Go have sex in the kitchen people! lol
Mardi Proctor - I can't sleep if hubby not beside me....
Joy Earle-Quick - For fifty years we have slept in the same bed, I would not like to be alone and neither would he, we share the good with the bad, snoring, can't sleep etc., that's what it all about sharing I think, works for us.
Christine Cairns - snoring, sweating, tossing and turning extra trips to the toilet the list goes on, you young ones will get it one day, you will beg for your own bed, doesnt mean you dont love each other just means you respect the fact that the other doesnt need to be woken up constantly..
Sofie Papasifakis - Separate beds, separate bank accounts, separate friends... what's the point in being married then?
Sharon Green - Each to their own! My husband and I have been married 34 years and neither of us can sleep if we aren't in the same bed! When I go to visit our kids by myself, we end up calling each other in the middle of the night because we both can't sleep! When I'm having a restless night I usually get up so I don't disturb his sleep, but he'll wake within 15 minutes because I'm no longer in the bed and I do the same when he gets up! Couldn't imagine sleeping in separate beds! We'd hate it! Love knowing he's there next to me!
Steve Brown - I'm a night worker, so sleeping alone is sorta on the cards for me, we have 2 lil girls aged 2-3 I may be able to get a few hours with the Missis before the kids get up at 6-630, and sometimes it's hard I love being able to roll over and know she is right there and pull her nice and close so she can hear my heart beat on my chest nothing can beat that feeling of utta bliss and heaven!!!
Rennay I love you with all my heart xoxo
Victor Nicholas Muñoz - And here I spend lonely nights wishing to sleep next to someone to hold!
Amanda Denny - King size bed all the way!!!
Valerie Ritchie - Married 33 yrs, separate bedrooms 15 yrs and still very much in love.
Adam Price - No fun playing Dutch ovens on your own.
NunesFamily Bellmere - Really? Sleeping habits are what can make a marriage miserable? Have been married for 22 years, bigger and better things people - I suppose we do live in an era of over-analyzing things hey?
Mel Davies - We have separate rooms.. Have done for many years.. My hubby snores and is a restless sleeper. I would wake up with his feet next to my head. He gets up at 3am to go to work. He goes to bed very early and I'm a night owl. We both get a good night sleep. There is no right or wrong answer. Do what suits your family. Our two kids don't find it to be strange.
Robbie Wiszniowski - Nope...there is 'space' and then there's 'i wanna be alone' time. Separate beds = Separated ... 1 love, 1 marriage, 1 bed. Sad to hear that people say they are 'happy' yet sleep alone. What happened to cuddles, snuggles, someone to dream with???
Mandy Ackroyd - Been married for 31yrs love knowing my husband is there right beside me.
Corinna Ward - That's what King size beds are for!!
Sani Ng Wun - I can't sleep unless my beautiful wife is right there next to me, no matter what, you should put ur differences aside and get over yourself before the sun rises for the next day

Melissa Lee Was McCarthy - Oh wow Tracey! Australian's are known for taking the piss out of each other and having a laugh. Lighten up. Seriously if you didn't smile or chuckle at that you need a counselling session
Jenny Sheppard - Hilarious or not, Karl is getting to be very childish most days, I don't know why they don't fire him.
Li Tal Wang - Karl for Australian of the year 2015
Cathy Simmons - Karl made it to immature news, not you Deb, you're too classy for that, he needs to monitor his responses a little better on national television!
Grant Colledge - Luv how Karl stays loose and other hosts are full of their own ego, onya Karl - Queeeeeeeenslanderrrrr 👍
Francina Kwiecien - Thank goodness we have REAL anchor people in Australia with a sense of humour we can all relate to.
Hayley Tapscott - This is why today is better then sunrise Kaitlin Oxley
Erica Robinson - When I first returned to Australia and saw your show it was like a breath of fresh air. Real people reacting just as real people should! Love it!!!
Leesa Middle Child Hearn - Lighten up ITS KARL
Love the today show xo
Clearly Tracey is far too mature for it - switch off darlin
Grahame Haid - Any publicity is good publicity in this case , when was the last time Sunrise appeared on any other show but there own???

TODAY: NO RULES, MORE PLAY A primary school principal from New Zealand has thrown out the rulebook and is instead letting children roam free in the playground. Kids are allowed to climb trees and can even ride their bikes and skateboards. It sounds like chaos, but the school is functioning better than ever before. There’s less bullying and concentration in classrooms has increased. TELL TODAY – What do you think of throwing out the rulebook? #rules #playground #kids #today9Comments:
Louise Barwin - Good for him ..... a Principal that obviously has kids needs first - awesome!!
Lisa Burley - Fabulous
Schools have gone too far and kids can't be kids
Rhys Hiscox - I'd rather my kids hurt "by" amusement than being hurt "for" amusement.
Love the idea.. :))
Karen Fitzpatrick - AAAHHHH the good old days when kids were kids and a scuffed knee was worn like a badge of honour....Well done NZ, again leading the world in forward thinking!!
Amanda Guilfoyle - Maybe they should have regular schools for those who want their kids to be kids and cotton wool schools for the pussy parents
Bobby Jean Williams - Great kids don't need rules they need guidance.
Donna Lea White - Schools could be schools, if all you parents out there didn't run into the school with every little problem, like my child fell scratched himself, why weren't you watching him,,,blah blah blah, etc etc etc the good old days won't come back until the good old fashioned parenting comes back
Nikki Reedie - I'd be happy to relax rules at my school, but I'd also have to dedicate half my day to parent complaints. Schools don't do these things to stop kids having fun, parents need to loosen up and let kids be kids. Everyone supports this until it's their child who gets hurt.
Debbie Ann Hinga - I'm a parent of a 7yr old, i wish he could do this, just like i used to, there was no bullying because our imaginations were allowed to be free to invent games etc.
see the kids nowadays, limited imagination and play > they get hurt and become the biggest drama queens about it > they sit inside playing games cos they don't know how to do anything unless it's been put in front of them.
Let them get hurt it teaches that life is full of hurdles and learn not to repeat the same mistakes
Let them hug it teaches kindness
Let them climb, it's how they explore
What a great idea this principal has :)
Belinda Tews - Omfg! What is wrong with some of you people?!? My siblings and i grew up climbing trees and god knows what else in the school ground! Nothing serious ever bloody happened to us! Its a known fact that kids need to burn off energy other wise they get bored and become disruptive. And to all those parents out there who would even consider suing a school cos their kid came home with some scratches or even a broken limb, you are pathetic and need to pop the bubble you put your kids in! Let them live a little for god sake!! And yes, i did break my arm at school, but guess what, my parents didn't sue the school as it was an accident, and guess what, accidents happen! Go back to letting kids be kids ffs
Bonnie Mallett - What? These kids are able to play like kids should? Surely this is a joke!
Jane Edwards - Ditch the lawyers, the oh&s buffoons, the litigious parents who see a dollar in anything and allow kids to play. Children do not develop a fully functioning frontal lobe unless the are able to take risks and learn from mistakes. Perhaps some of the issues we are having with violence among our young men may have been alleviated if there weren't so many rules in their playgrounds?
Lisa Rasmussen - My son got suspended for 2 days for climbing a tree. So my husband told the principal 'I will take him home to practice on our tree to be quicker'
Let kids be kids, but you do need some boundaries.
Deidre Warburton Curry - Think it's a great idea, too many kids a wrapped in cotton wool and aren't allowed to just be kids.
Shona Johnston - A couple of years ago - I was in the Doctors Surgery with three elderly people in their 80's reminiscing about what they used to do when they were young. All under 10 at the time they were in charge of the younger ones in the family - Each morning they all had chores to do - help milk the cow/s, and tend to other animals, prepare breakfast for the family, clean the house, yard etc and then when all that was completed the day was theirs. They were allowed to go down to the river with the smaller children and swim all day if they wanted, run up the hills and roll down, climb trees, hunt, fish, eeling, meet up with friends/cousins - there was no time to the day and they knew as the late afternoon arrived it was time to meander on home as dinner would be waiting. Children naturally learnt skills on how to stay safe, care and protect one other, respect for the environment as well as themselves and those that were in their care - the key principals of life. They spoke of the fun and laughter the pranks and the accidents....not having any money but there was always love. And then one of them said "oh are they allowed to climb trees today..." That was the end of the laughter and conversation as we sat there looking at each other and reading our "Life magazines..." So cheers to the principal who has thrown out the rules book. Children need to feel the freedom of play, laughter, fun AND how to be creative.
Jolene M Hansford - Bring it to Australia
Kelly Austin - The fact that some comment about sueing is what's wrong with society these days :-/ I say let kids be kids.. Awesome idea..
Nicky Rough - I was horrified to learn a few years back that kids were no longer allowed to play bullrush or even have lolly scrambles, two of my favorite things to do as a kid! I am glad someone finally is taking a stand against the extreme PC culture around at the moment!! We were all allowed to do it and we have turned out fine! I want my children to have the same experiences that I did, not be wrapped in cotton wool and be able to just be kids!!
Robyn Timm - Funny thing is all the games that are banned now are the very same games we played as children, we climbed trees, play red rover & if we fall over we went & saw the school nurse who after cleaning us up sent us back out to play. It didn't kill us & it won't kill our kids either.
Kirsten Bailey - It's not because of teachers and principals that schools have so many rules. It's due to parents who complain and sue.
Jules Bailey - Finally children actually being children WELL DONE TO THIS PRINCIPLE

TODAY: SHOPAHOLIC SOLUTION Imagine using a handbag that alerts you when you enter a shopping 'danger zone'… it could stop you spending too much and curbs your credit card debt. One of the features will send a text to someone you nominate as 'your responsible other' telling them you may be overspending. TELL TODAY – Good idea? #ibag #shopaholic #today9Comments:
Carolyn Lack - How about " grow some own responsibility".
Faith Gray - Wow, looks like it's yet another app to take away personal responsibility. I'm also somewhat concerned about how the app could be adapted and used to track a spouse, in the case of domestic violence, stalking, etc.
Peta Joanne Street - Here's a solution... IF YA DON'T HAVE THE BLOODY MONEY... DON'T SPEND IT YOU SHALLOW, MATERIALISTIC, CONSUMERISTIC LEMMINGS!!!
Mel Davies - When are WE going to be responsible for our own actions. It's becoming a bloody Joke!
Georgina WhitleyAmes - They should implement this for someone who gambles!
Duane Ferguson - On the one hand, we have a story about a school principle displaying uncommon common sense, and his students reaping the rewards, and on the other hand we have this - an app that allows your phone to take responsibility for managing you behaviour.
Annika Wright - If you need this handbag there is definitely something wrong with you. It's called self control. If you don't have money in your wallet for random stuff just don't buy it. It's exactly why things like laybuy was invented.
Gordon Sullivan - Want to cut down on credit card debt? DONT get a credit card!
Steve Botham - What I haven't heard mentioned is how much the bag costs in the first place. . Catch 22
Amanda Starkey - Lmfao that blonde woman saying Wagga Wagga is alright, obviously she hasn't been here for a while, I could take a pic from my front door and all ull see is junkies!! Ppl like me are trying to get away somewhere safer for our children, u need to do some research
Kotoni Bara - I can see it being abused by controlling partners to keep track of their partners spending habits.
Amanda Bennett - Kellie Hall perhaps we need this function on our phones u can be alerted when I'm shopping & if my card is declined u can come & prise me out of the foetal position?
Kim Warren-Evans - How about an App, to show some people about manners and morals................App for shopping control, bloody unreal
Jayne Johnston - If you can't afford to pay it back, don't have it! We don't have credit cards, have 3 kids, both work and are doing fine!
Michael John Renton - Or notify you of nearby sales.
Peter Campbell - what a load of rubbish, technology is going overboard
Heidi Davis - How about a lil self control
Michelle Ksenic - Brittny Ksenic is this a sign ? Lol
Neville Nuk NukNuk - these are a great idea for idiots to use
Jaime Leigh Nelson - Chloe Taylor Rachael Walters 😂
Myles Banner - That's hilarious.

Leesa Putan - Congratulations Wendy, one idea. With me doing lots of family research, in the past the majority of people used the mothers maiden surname for the babies middle name. So it keeps the female surnames going.

- RELAXING THE RULES
We spoke to the principal abandoning playground rules and letting children (Type: photo | Published: 2014-01-30T08:35:01+0000 | Likes: 0 | Shares: 80)
TODAY: RELAXING THE RULES We spoke to the principal abandoning playground rules and letting children roam free. Is it a good idea? WATCH: http://on-msn.com/1kanHPo #playground #rules #kids #today9Comments:
Adrian Le Loux - What kids being kids , kids having fun , kids playing out in the fresh air , kids enjoying themselves .?
Where are the fun police .?
Thank goodness for this principal in NZ , back to the basics .
Good show ,!
Deanne Tillitzki - Yes. They r letting kids be kids.
Michelle Taylor - This would build resilience into the children, stretch imaginations, and burn off energy for greater concentration. Win all round. We are far too over protective of our children, they need to explore their capabilities in order to function fully in life. We are producing a generation of kids who will never stretch themselves because they don't know how.
Majella Sheppard - Maybe if more people stopped trying to sue people everytime something happened this could happen in Australia!
Philip Alexander Orr - Liability wavers don't hold in court anyway. I think the laws should just prohibit idots from being able to sue
Sherree Miller - Absolutely good idea... As kids we could run round be silly do cartwheels backflips off monkey bars... You name it we did it.... We survived... It allows kids to let steam off before they head back into class... Esp when in primary school they need to be able to burn off energy
Goto say the school that my kids goto in alpine area of Vic is fantastic... They are allowed to play as much as they like the teachers just make sure the kids play within their own age groups
Kathleen Anderson Sach - finally someone's light bulb turned on .... we all survived the play ground ... kids being kids ... no political correctness crap ... children playing now in the tech world that is harmful to mental growth ... the play ground that develops life lessons, they get fresh air, exercise, communication, laughter, sharing, innocence the list is endless ... I applaud this principle
Gerald Pauschmann - No way, that is abuse. this school is being irresponsible and allowing kids to be kids. Next thing you know is they will allow them to eat what they want. This is going back to the dark ages of common sense.
Trudie Truswell - To the Dept of Ed - looks like a lot of people are in favour of this, so get of ya butts and get serious about implementing this in Australia. It is already proven.
Adam Beaman - How about starting by doing something outrageous like having a winner in sports instead of everyone getting a participation medal?
Gary Barber - let kids be kids nobody died from a broken arm
Ingrid Hickman Sels - As usual a vocal minority who want to sue & blame everyone but themselves for any injuries etc ruin it for us majority who actually know what common sense is!! Good on the principal!!
Yasmine Watt Allan - At last, a school who is letting kids be kids, instead of wrapping them up in cotton wool. And it's taken a Kiwi school to do it 😃👍
Kym Tomlinson-Ryan - Fantastic idea and all schools should follow suit.. Let kids be kids... And for children to grow into responsible adults they NEED to take some risks and they need to be able to self control... Let's do it Australia wide!
Janelle Maureen Riggs - Yes yes yes!! Let kids go back to being kids instead of micro managing every single second & action they do!
Jodie-anne Molloy - I survived to my ripe old age climbing huge cement pipes, playing on a flying fox, climbing a dome that was the height of a house, playing elastics, marbles, skippy ropes, turning cartwheels and summersaults.....all the fun stuff!
Craig Howe - Awesome idea. Until a kid gets hurt and parents sue. Sorry to be a downer but that's the world we love in now.
Kelly Bond - As long as all parents are on board and accept that their children may get injured it's great!!
Deszree Edwards Corbett - Yeahh great to see teach the kids to do what they should be doing naturaly not playing electronic games.
Melissa Vale - Absolutely. Better for kids to learn their limits now. They will remember them!
Scott Hancock - Should bring some discipline too , teachers have no power or respect. , thank the do gooders for that , that's why the world is the way it is , good old flogn at a young age for doing wrong might stop a few of these problems we have now .

TODAY: CYCLONE DYLAN Our reporter sent this photo in - as north Queenslanders get ready for Cyclone Dylan. Tropical Cyclone Dylan has been upgraded to a category 2 storm as it continues its path towards the north Queensland coast. Full coverage on TODAY from tomorrow morning at 4:30am in Qld. If you've got photos or video vision of the cyclone, post it on our wall. UPDATES: http://www.bom.gov.au/australia/warnings/index.shtml #CycloneDylan #QLD #today9Comments:
Mathew Payne - Cyclone Bob Dylans coming in like a rolling stone
Lanny Edey - Bets on who is going to be the first weather reporter to be an 'unsafe hero' standing outside in the cyclone screaming into their microphone telling us how bad this is going to be. Is it just standard practice now to tell us to secure loose objects and stay staff but it's ok for weather reporters to stand outside for dramatic effect and hope their reporting skills gets them a nomination in media awards? A big kudos to the first reporter to broadcast from a safe environment and let the camera use its zoom to show the outside environment. Ooooh, i'm cynical ;-)
Mathew Bultitude - One major Disaster after another this 2013-2014 , first we got Abbott then Newman now this , well this ain't as bad because the first two will destroy Australia anyway over the next year PEICE at a time
Mandy Yoxall - I thought Dylan was some crazy mate when you said you were waiting for him.. Lmao!
Sean Walsh - im in Rockhampton and it's pissing down and blowing a gail. feeling for all the lads and lasses in townsvill
Stewart Mears - Stay safe Queenslanders
Jane Solis - We are sitting just south of gladstone and you'd think we were in the path of the cyclone! The wind here is beyond storms or other it's honestly howling and has been since Sunday.
Rosie Tylars Nana Miller - The Dylan I know is full of p##s and wind
Rosella Billy - I am happy that it is not coming in Cairns but I am sorry for everyone in Townsville and other areas where this cyclone will hit.....stay safe everyone I hope this Dylan C doesn't causes a lot of damage....:(
Kez Hanna-Armstrong - Nth qlders go through this every year they are used to it. We breed em tuff up in the nth.
Leanne Warman - Stay safe every one
The wind is getting worse here in Mackay,
Say we are in for bad night, but we are ready for it
Tenelle Pattel - Nothing happening in Townsville at the moment. It's rather boring, lol.
Megan Veness - Be safe in Townsville - love that place - nice memories
Rachel Worboys - Stay safe everyone.
Mandy Yoxall - Marc Brockman
I get it now lol!!!
Sue Pearce - Madison Tomarchio - famous!
Amy Campbell - Good luck everyone up there
Tyrone Sims - Hay, ya ass Luis ya dad's shop
Golfo Tsaousidis - May god keep everyone safe
Wendy Hay - Have spoken to fam in Townsville and they say "very windy and rain oh well..." so all ok atm :) Family in Cairns all good :)
Janet Heib - We are on the cliff at Emu Park, the wind is gale force and has been for two days now, the sea is just huge and it is teeming rain

TODAY: CYCLONE DYLAN Cyclone Dylan has officially hit Queensland, about 90 minutes ago, near Bowen, packing with winds of up to 150km/h and torrential rain. We're broadcasting LIVE into Queensland as Cyclone Dylan slams into the coast as a Category 2. Post your photos and or videos on our FB wall or Twitter. Keep safe. Photo credit: Tay Rayner - Main St of Hamilton Island QLD, at 10:30am yesterday morning. #Dylan #cyclone #storm #weather #today9Comments:
Janet Slattery - Don't say it wasn't strong enough for damage! You weren't here going through it all. I can tell you first hand it was frightening! Cyclonic winds and rain have a sound that doesn't come with any little storm....it's deafening and bloody scary!! I've just spent most of early this morning on my 5 acre property checking the damage and cleaning up! And just because it has hit landfall doesn't mean it's over ... Far from it. Ok rant over. Cheers and stay safe everyone in our community.
Sue Gunston - If only the media would report what happened - not what they hoped would happen.
Major problem is king tide.
This cyclone whimpered (thank god) it didnt "slam".
Ive lived in airlie over 25 years and am sick of the misrepresentation.
Bet we'll see a reporter standing in water with branches blown down saying how we've been "devastated".
Dennis Inmackay - Yes. Windy For Sure. This is near Bowen. photo credit -Jodie Holmes
Sharon Honnery McLean - How about giving your reporters correct info about where they are reporting from. At around 4;30 this morning your reporter was reporting from Ayr and was talking about the town footage of a street was shown and said to be Ayr. It was actually Airlie beach! At around 8:25 a reporter told Australia that Bowen farmers grow peaches and apples, along with tomatoes etc. love to know where the apples and peaches are. And yes I am from this area!! Please get your facts right
David Crooke - Why do they always give cyclones and hurricanes such gay names?? Why dont they give them names like Hurricane Slaughter or Cyclone Annihilation? Cyclone Dylan sounds like it would gently blow a puff of warm cannabis filled air into your face before singing you a song all about peace and love. #fail
Deb Adamson - Missed Townsville so disappointing we needed more rain
Julie Mogford - stay safe everyone and please take care god bless you all xoxoxoxo .
Stephen Maxwell Roberts - Stay safe queensland and may god bless each one of u may god watch over u all i send my love from south australia murray bridge love u xoxoxoxo
Emma Jane Hope - Hope no one gets hurt :/
Debbie Maclean - It crossed at Hideaway Bay near Dingo Beach a few kms north of Airlie Beach. My daughter and partner are there she said all is ok. They are thankful it was a baby cyclone. They are more worried about the king tide and surge .
Gwen White - I grew in Townsville and went through Althea, xmas 1971. She was worse then Tracey, xmas 1974. There have been some many other places Santa didn't make it to but we don't hear about them. This so called "live coverage" is not all it is cracked up to be. I live in Katherine now (yes I went through the 1998 FLOOD) and all of the coverage has not acutally said where the eye crossed. The old fashioned
day late" newspaper coverage back in the '70's actually gave us better information. I am NOT discounting any ones fear, damage or loss from Dylan.
Sam Duncan - We're right in Mackay, wouldn't even know there was a cyclone around :)
Melanie Gilmour - Wish you all the best in QLD stay safe!
Dennis Inmackay - Lambert Beach, Mackay.
Peta Joanne Street - Hope nobody gets hurt. God bless Australia <3 and it's stupid weather :o)
Michele Cherry - Stay safe everyone.
Wayne Cynthia Higgins - Please all take care but remember the farmers in-land are looking forward to this rain
Rosie Crooks - TC Dylan is currently over Proserpine. He made landfall at Hydeaway Bay and his eye crossed at Dingo Beach. Wish I was up home in Proserpine with my 2 other children, on my property at Kelsey Creek
Wendy Joyce - Stay safe up there
Sharryn Lizbeth - Stay safe everyone. No idiots being heroes please
Nicole Towsey - Stay safe people!
- THORPE'S STRUGGLE
One of our greatest Olympians, Ian Thorpe, has been admitted to rehab to bat (Type: photo | Published: 2014-01-30T20:05:30+0000 | Likes: 0 | Shares: 43)
TODAY: THORPE'S STRUGGLE One of our greatest Olympians, Ian Thorpe, has been admitted to rehab to battle depression and alcohol abuse. The 31-year-old has reportedly struggled to come to terms with life after swimming and his failed comeback attempt for the London Olympics. #thorpe #swimming #olympics #today9Comments:
Cindy Hobson - Hang in there Thorpey - there is light at the end of the dark tunnel!! I'm a survivor - you can do it too :-)
Paul Lynch - I've been there Ian , still on Effexor pills now , need to talk about it as much as you can bud
Kellie Bellie - It takes more of a man to say they need help than to be a little keyboard warrior who chooses to kick someone when they are down! Good on u thorpie, we love u
Julie Fuller - Can't believe so many negative comments. This is why depression can still be a taboo topic and why a lot of people keep it to themselves, because of how society views it. By telling his story he's getting the topic out there and making more people aware that there is help.
Carmen Wilson - I can't understand why comments about his sexuality have been posted. The news story is about a young man suffering depression & alcohol abuse. Nothing mentioned re his sexuality. He needs the support of family, friends & professionals, not people questioning his sexual preferences.
Sharleen Shapland - Isn't he entitled to the same respect as everyone else mental health issues and Alcoholism affect so many people. How many people out there suffer in silence because they don't feel good enough to get help. It is people in the public eye that bring more and more awareness to the public for whatever illness they are suffering. They show by doing this that it doesn't matter who you are rich/poor or famous/a nobody you are not immune. I think he is brave for putting his very personal struggles out there. The figures are rather high for people suffering with mental health problems or alcoholism so odds are we all know at least one person who is suffering with some form of mental health issue treated or untreated or alcoholism treated or untreated. Alcoholism doesn't cause depression. So good luck Ian Thorpe get well. You are a legend in my eyes.
Glenda Wright Golledge - Why do people have to be so nasty .. I'm sure you would have been cheering him on when he won Australia gold !!! Get a dictionary & look up the word compassion !!!!
Brett Berg - How many other people are diagnossed with depression every day why isn't there more said about it unless its a sportsperson diagnosed
Scott Donald - For the uneducated on this illness, educate yourself firstly so you understand
Carol Bennett - It is great that this story is in the media. So many of you are criticizing this as being a story because Ian Thorpe is well known. Get off your high horses and take a good look at the public health system including the resources to treat mental health. This country is under resourced and mental Heath suffers are treated poorly. Any exposure for mental health issues is good and if it's the celebrities that bring focus to it, then that is good!!!
Gina Williamson - Stay strong. Life is worth living to the fullest. You have a country behind you.
Carolyn Holmes - Gee there is so many nasty comments, good on you Ian for getting help. I've suffered depression for 10 years. And no wonder people try and hide it with society and their nasty comments
Tania Patterson - Maybe it's time he comes out
Rose Marie Rios-Luna - @Mark...it's people like you that we don't care about....
Lorraine Covington - You are in the right place Thorpy you made a choice to seek help. No matter who you are there is help for this awful illness.
Samantha Chiappin - So many people struggle with severe depression but no one cares or listens, just because he is ian thorpe doesn't make his depression any more important than anyone else.
Carol Bennett - Hope he will be ok. Regardless of his current status, he is a true CHAMPION!!!
Erin O'Shaughnessy - Why on earth is anyone commenting on sexual orientation here? Straight, gay, bisexual, secretly transgender for all these years, who cares? No one told me to come out as a lesbian when I went into hospital for exactly the same thing. Focus people. And stop making assumptions, you wouldn't like the same done of you.
Kez Miller - Seems a lot of people wake up haters. Highlighting 'celebrities with health issues' is important for awareness about these problems. Being famous doesn't make you bullet proof, it's just another stressor. Good luck, Thorpy.
Melissa Dargusch - Sad to hear , but maybe he should also reduce the size of his ego too
Terri Brown - So sad . Depression is such a cruel disease and not something where you can " just get over it," Good luck Thorpie ....hope you can beat this . So much harder when you are battling your demons in front of the world too. Wish you all the best mate .. :-) ~Hugz~
- NO BAIL-OUT FOR SPC
The Federal Government has knocked back a proposal to chip in $25 million (Type: photo | Published: 2014-01-30T20:56:31+0000 | Likes: 0 | Shares: 53)
TODAY: NO BAIL-OUT FOR SPC The Federal Government has knocked back a proposal to chip in $25 million towards keeping ailing fruit processor SPC Ardmona afloat. It could put thousands of jobs at risk, many of them in Victoria. Tony Abbott says he is drawing a line in the sand, and that tax payers shouldn't have to rescue a business whose parent company, Coco Cola Amatil is in such a healthy financial position. TELL TODAY - What do you think of this? #SPC #today9Comments:
Angie Bevilacqua Pulsoni - As a grower for SPC perhaps the media needs to get the real story from a grower that's been affected by the choices of coca cola amatil...there's more to the story than what is being put out there...
Craig's Chill'd - Ppl need to buy Australian , until that happens nothing will change
Georgia Barron - pull your finger out coca~cola amatil!!!
Steven Paterson - Coke Cola owns it, they have enough money they should be paying not us!
Tracy Warner - I don't understand how these companies get themselves in so much trouble they have ask for 25 million to help. I would be looking at the mangers/ directors wages cutting cost from the top.
Karen Naden - That's right...I've got a small business and the government doesn't help me out..why should those bigger companies get hand outs. My job is just as important as anyone of those employees
Jennie Keogh - How about consumers start supporting these businesses instead of buying Coles and woolworths products just to save 10 cents.
Dianne Mulligan - Good on you Tony Abbott--an adult in charge ---Coca Cola should prop up their own---not the taxpayers!!!!
Verina Rallings - stop the importing of fruit for OS!!!
Lawrence Mason - My business is struggling too, can I have a Government handout?
Jen Beech - It's not up to the government to keep businesses going. That's the owners, managers job.
Karen Coggan - So many people to blame for the potential failure. The consumer for not buying the product. The retailer for stocking inferior product along side an Australian product. SPC for not remaining competitive. And the parent company for not looking after it's business. If the government bailed out each company that needed help no matter what the size we would be taxed to the hilt to help pay for someone's poor choice. Next supermarket shop buy SPC and all Australian made. Support local jobs.
Narelle Morris - But they will propose 200 bucks to couples for marriage counseling ... Why not use that money .. This govt has some odd ways of thinking .. Don't put people first
Lanika Dyer - SPC ARDMONA is the only aus company to support Aussie growers, so support our fellow Aussies.
Holly Blackberry - Buy Australian and its not up to the government to bail out failing business. Nor should they when coca cola reported such huge profits last year. The money could be far better spent.
Graham Martin - SPC has the one of the richest company in the world as a parent company, that being Coca Cola Amatil. This is a private company that has share holders worldwide , why aren't they paying for the upgrade that is needed. This is not the responsibility of the Australian government or the people of Australia. The federal government is in there to maintain the economy for ALL Australians , and to use our taxes to maintain Australia . Not just one company that has a parent company that can put $billions into it to make it more profitable.
Sarah Bowen - How about Coca Cola Amatil give some of their $550m profit last financial year to SPC?
Ann Lee - You guys should be ashamed of yourselves blaming the government, when the parent company is Coco Cola, with millions in profits, they should be putting money back into SPC. Not taking everything out of the country for their shareholders.
David Fairbrass - Shame Coca Cola!!!...SHAME!!!
Lee Mason - All of those ppl losing their jobs and moving onto the unemployment line, yep abbott thats creating jobs and supporting businesses just like u promised! Hes the biggest fraud and so embarrassing to this country
Nickole LovesBrian Lowe - I don't agree with bailing them out but I do worry that we will have no choice but to buy lead laden canned food from china! AUSSIES NEED TO SUPPORT LOCAL PRODUCTS
