shelly c. smith - my niece used to call me to come over and hang out. so I would go over there and we would be talking and then she would get texts and phone calls and just ignore me while she answered whoever was more important at the moment. I think it is so rude not to put your phone up when you are supposed to be talking or visiting with someone in person.
pam hunsinger - I expect drool to start dribbling out of his mouth any minute. People today have such a hard time communicating with another person because they're so used to staring at a screen.
wendy neff tonga - Yep, we need to disconnect to reconnect.
danny andrew tennant - Ironic tho that we have to use our phones to see this
a-la dawn - Oh B.S. i can have a conversation and pay attention to my fone at the same time. Just cuz I dont wanna talk to the creepy strange dude next to me doesnt mean I am anti social. And anyway the same can b said about TV, all the freakin' "shhhh my show is on" crap....
cheryl williams - I spent most of my working life 'on the phones' or radio dispatch. Now that I am retired I don't care to talk on the phone that much and certainly don't carry a cellphone around with me. I also despise walking around in some store or standing at a checkout line, having to listen to someone else having some loud conversation that I care less about. It also bothers me to have people visit and they spend their time texting or talking or playing games on their phones and texting or playing games on their tablets. Don't bother to visit if that's what you are going to do.
chris diltz - lol at all of you people sitting on your computer, staring at the internet, pointing fingers at the people staring at the internet on their phones and calling them "disgusting".
chris filut - This is the REAL zombie apocalypse!
denise payne - Phone "Zombie's"
cheryl scevers - There needs to be a balance. You can't stop progress but sometimes too much is too much the next generation can use devices better than they can write, math, a lot of them don't even spell correctly to much use of abbreviations. Parents track there kids by txt as if there phone is a babysitter. Phones do not belong in schools, the dinner table, while visiting with friends or family, on a date. Nothing is that pressing.
schyerl trim - This is showing how we are becoming an anti-social society. No one talks to anyone today. Just text it. Schools are giving or telling parents to get lap tops for the children to do home work but soon we wont have teacher everything well be by internet so no school no place to socialize. I feel so sorry for the generations coming up not to know how to have fun and play.
ashley yeates - What about the billion pictures where people aren't looking at their phones? (and don't say it's because they're taking the picture from their phones... :P)
simon kilgallon - People were saying the same thing about personal stereos/walkmans in the 1980's. Its a phase.
rabiaa adi - I bet we're all reading this on our phones .
cheryl schwindt fellure - What a shame, life is passing them by
colleen opaski - I really think the cell phone is ruining lives, many many lives :(
robin jane - I think middle schools should add a course to their curriculum.....called "Cell-phone Etiquette"
thomas kleist - I bet most people read that in their phone
dottie starin - Makes you wonder if they know how to speak words anymore and they sure don't know how to spell.
michael sullivan - ...as people are reading this on their phones.
bernadette seger - we're doomed if this keeps up...

Viral Nova: This baby is 16 months old. And this is amazing.Comments:
jim murphy - Incredibly smart kid, ive got friends that cant even do that!
sheena biederman - It's not 'reading'. The child recognises the collective group of shapes and knows the word just the same as learning what all his toys are called. If you hand write those words in a different style, chances are he won't know them. We use this method for children who have special needs and don't understand how to blend sounds together to make a word. It's word recognition the same as picture or object recognition.
cate kerr - Hmm - makes me think of Pavlovs dog!
bobbie england - That program is called my baby can read. I had it for my son. It really dose work. And its fun watching how fast they learn
joseph parker - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fh7E7_I-KPM
joyce vos - We used "my baby can read" with both our children & it worked! Both reading....so sweet to hear our 4 year old reading a story to our 2 year old - totally worth it!

terry russell - He is amazing! He isn't just recognizing the word, he is actually saying the words! Break it down, some people don't realize what 16 mos. mean.. 1 year and 4 mos on this planet and he can do this, call it what you want, but he is a very brilliant little man! God bless him, I really enjoyed this!! Thanks

Viral Nova: #12 scarred me for life.Comments:
kristy shaw - Big deal..... These are dumb.
martina blake-henning - I want to see some of these, they should have put their locations lol
charles yves pierrot jr. - For #16, plug this number into google maps, then turn the Earth function on.
52° 22' 35.6"N, 5° 11' 53.9"E
audrey schuler peterson - My husband and his co-worker were walking to work one day and saw the Google Maps car coming down the street. You can tell what they are doing because they have cameras all over the car and it says "Google" on the side. So they waved. 2 years later we Googled the street, and there they are. 😊
judy pickup leytham - We should all be searching google earth for that huge airplane that just "vanished" from the face of the earth.
emily akay - The airplane graveyard is in Tucson arizona on the air force base and is a paid attraction lol ooh spooky ha
sandra nowaczyk - Some look real, others are photo shopped.
willow wells hansen - I used to live right by the "airplane graveyard" is actually called the bone yard, it's right next to DMAFB in Tucson, it's not scary at all, they use it for spare parts just like any other junk yard or pick-n-pull but for the air force
andy czarnecki - bunch of photoshop, thanx for wasting my time idiots
angel guerra - Number 2 is the roof top of the Peabody Hotel in downtown Memphis Tennessee
joanna degayner - The giant bunny is real. It is a Guinness book of world record holding knit rabbit. Idk if you can really see it on google maps but it isn't fake.
teresa moore mcneely greenwood - I'm especially disturbed by #16! I can't come up with anything else other than it IS a dead body being dragged to the end of the pier. Look close and you can see where there was a second body dragged and the bloody pool it laid in until it was drug over the center rail of the pier and into the water!
gerry depalma - I sure hope people dont really think these things are real.... REALLY???
andrew tarr - Very convenient the star is upside down!!!....oh wait It's space, it's whatever direction I want it to be
john thompson - I know what #23 is! A training exercise! Notice a plane burned in half ... but the tarmac isn't even disdcolored.
colby butler - Photo shop is a magical program
bryson tappe - I'm not playing down town Travis Tappe so stop asking lol
bobbie borcherding - They posted one last week that looked like a gigantic crab
jeff a hartman - Very stupid pictures and most of them not from Google Earth.
larry monroe - #23 looks like it's probably a training area/exercise. The responder vehicles are too neatly arranged to be a real incident.
anthony ru so - Pretty pointless, I want that minute of my life back.
- Now that's morbid. OMG. (Type: link | Published: 2014-10-24T13:10:01+0000)
Viral Nova: Now that's morbid. OMG.Comments:
kate kennedy hayes - This is kind of an ignorant post. Mourning traditions change, and in a time before photography was common and inexpensive, people often didn't have images of their loved ones, and so death portraits became the only image they would ever have of that person. It also wasn't uncommon to give a lock of hair to an admirer, so making a keepsake of hair isn't as far-fetched as all that. And jet jewelry wasn't worn like a big lump of coal. It could be very beautiful.
jamie kramer - Mirrors were covered because they thought a person's soul would get trapped in it. I don't see how it is morbid in anyway though. Different and not seen today but we all mourn loss in our own ways.
jennifer dudley - There is nothing wrong with honoring the dead. This is kind of disrespectful to those who have. Nothing wrong with taking pictures nothing wrong with them trying to keep a memory of them.
bubba joe - "I would have loved to live in this period of time, thanks to the numerous developments in society and technology popping up left and write."
Really? Left and write? Really?? How much do you pay your writers? I'm available if needed...
haley macdonald - Coffin alarms were very real, it's where the term "Saved by the bell" originated :)
valerie chelate - I find nothing wrong with any of this. that's how things were done back then
shamina kelly - People couldn't afford to take pictures all the time back then. They were very expensive. Sometimes these were the last memories they would ever have.
dan macakanja - Right...opposite of left....Write....putting words to paper with a pen or other writing utensil.....dumbass
dawn ellehcim - Photographs were very expensive in the Victorian times. So most people had very few if any of their loved ones. They would pose with their loved ones or pose them in a semi natural setting alone to be able to have at least one visual memory of them. It was mostly middle and lower middle class people who would do this. If they were extremely poor they would make jewelry from hair. They would even save their tears of sorrow. That's the short version but there is much more information about the Victorians. It was a very interesting time. I don't find it morbid at all. It's all in how you look at things.
adrienne treuhaft-roe - Jews to this day cover the mirrors in their homes, simply because it is vain to look at oneself in a time of morning.
ev wilcox - Morbid, only if you are seriously brain dead. Customs of the day-that's all. As for the coffin alarm--bodies weren't embalmed, and getting buried alive actually happened.
linda lassman - Jet is quite a beautiful black stone--they didn't just wear lumps of coal. And hair jewelry and other items can also be quite beautiful--they didn't just take a hank of hair and tie it around their fingers or wrists, as is shown in the photo. There are many, may examples of surviving jet and hair jewelry available. I expect better from ViralNova than this.
tia andrews - Mirrors were covered because a spirit could get trapped in an uncovered mirror. Post mortem photography still exists and it's never been morbid. Back when photography was new it was very expensive, a lot of the time the only photo that existed was the photo taken post mortem, they wanted (and people still want) something to remember their loved ones. It's beautiful if you ask me.
maggie arseneault morris - I remember my grand mother died in 1963, yes I am that old and my mother wore black clothes for almost a year !
ardamora magaera - Jet jewelry is actually very nice looking, not like a lump of coal at all, Whitby Jet jewelry is still highly prized as it was etched and carved the way whale bone was.
A locket with a curl of hair isn't as ugly as it's made out to be, just different times is all.
norma britt ramey - I wouldn't have a problem posing for a picture with my deceased loved one. When my oldest sister died, I climbed into bed and layed beside her until the funeral home came to get her. If someone had wanted to take our picture it would've been fine. I've seen some of the hair jewelry and it's very pretty.~
jamie eye buffa - #4 it did work... AND this is where the get the term the graveyard shift! Because someone was responsible to sit at the gravesite overnights and listen for the bell.
charla blake - the mourning jewelry made of hair is quite amazing and beautiful when you look at it ... then they took hair and braided it or used it as threads in petit point embroidery patterns inside lockets/pendants ... today you can take your loved ones ashes and turn them into a diamond ... the tradition of "wearing" someone to commemorate and honor their death is still there, just the methodology has changed
amanda plant - The Victorians were surrounded with death, due to diseases we have cures for today, poor diets, bad sanitation, poverty and so on,,, they didn't view it as we would today, it wasn't something to be afraid of and this was a way to remember their loved ones. In some cultures today the custom of taking photographs of the deceased is still practiced
jessi gore - How is this morbid?! Such an ignorant post!!
bev castle-barnes - There is a photography company in Australia (the name of the business escapes me), but they specialise in taking beautiful and respectful photos of stillborn and dead babies in hospital! So people still do this...
- Still SO adorable. Am I right? (Type: link | Published: 2014-10-24T17:10:00+0000)

gary bennett - It was tough putting our dog down, he was in way too much pain though and it as tougher to see him suffering
janis stevenson-beach - I had to put down my 12 year old Rottweiler. His health had declined so much, I couldn't bear to see him suffer. When the time come, and It's best for your best friend, then It's what's is required.
vivian james - People don't do it because they're 'fed up' with their dog; they do it because the dog is in (terminal) pain. They do it as an act of love and it breaks their heart.
theresa beals - A dog will never tell you when it's time to go . You have to make that gut wrenching decision. It's the only downside of being a pet owner.
patricia shannon-kelly - I would rather "put them down" then watch them suffer! I feel it should be the same with humans! Animals have it better then we do when it comes to being put out of our misery.
jude johnson - It broke my heart to say goodbye to fizzy pops my loving Staffie. Came to me as a 6 yr old neglect &cruelty case. For another 7 years became the best friend I could ever have.still heart broken.

amanda barnes-scott - We have loved all,our dogs and you know after trying treatments it's time to go we currently have a 9 year old Weimaraner who is still daft as a brush but you know when the time comes it is as the saying goes cruel to be kind as you know when your dog suffers hopefully anoth 4yers with our OSCAR xx
tracy glenn - They get like we do everyboby everything gets old still beautiful
joan broadhead-galindo - To think I used to be HAPPY about putting a dog down
marcia lavely - Older dogs still have a lot of love to give.
helen gazzara - I loathe the phrase, 'putting down'. It sounds uncaring and just plain callous. Even the euphemism, 'put to sleep' is better.
faline williams - Such beautiful faces. Puppies are cute but nothing beats the wisdom in an old dogs face.
martha gonzalez - Pobres animalitos no ablan pero con la pura mirada te dicen todo.

Viral Nova: It was bought for a dollar. You're about to see why.Comments:
christina justice gillardo - I would have bought it if I had the money to repair it. It's a beautiful home, plus, I am related to the previous owners. The owner was my 2nd great grand uncle. His brother, George, was my grandmother's father although that little tidbit wasn't known to my grandmother for almost 70+ years.
matt wilson - Really? It's heyday was in the 80s?
sandy alexander - Mobile Alabama sold many mansions for that price. The deal clincher was that for that price you had to prove that you had the resources & intend to restore the building. Great idea & way to keep your city's history.
margaret wheadon - Where's the story? I just see pictures of a fixer upper

sarah hardiman - I would have given $2
penny jackson - If I had to $$ to repair it I would. This house is beautiful.
loci nelson - Call Nicole Curtis
amanda graham green - The most sad thing about this is that I read it's going to be renovated and turned into apartments. What a waste!
kalene best - If it was in my neighborhood, I'd volunteer my time to help with the Reno...it's an amazing place. So much potential!! Good luck on returning it to it's original glory!
ravens roost - I love how the last picture is photoshopped to look like it's really old, but the cars in the photo are mid-70s or newer.
tonya chamberlain - What's so spooky about it. And no reports of hauntings, or even any nasty circumstances that would lend itself to a haunting. It's just a grand old house that needs saved.
linda ac - Nicole Curtis could whip that house into shape and get the ghosts to help
kim martin - I would have gladly paid a buck.
sandra hoss - I think it's beautiful I hope they restore it
diane allen - I thing it would be neat to remodel it. It's very cool looking.

alisha dunn - Not sure how much merit this story has, but I don't think even plastic surgery is that good. Most people still have some kind of 'oddness' or 'fixed' look to their face. She doesn't.
gui ly - I'm 27 and get mistaken for 17 yr old and under all the time.
stephanie pagala - I call bullshit. Don't all reps claim that their clients don't partake in cosmetic surgery?
bettye bunch - Never could this be true!!!No night cream ever developed would make anyone stay this young looking after so many years!!!Just saying...either plastic surgery or photo shopped!!!!
patricia kohnhorst - Her "Now" photo is either photo-shopped or she's had EXTENSIVE plastic surgery! But she looks great!
roger hamby - I'm calling bullshit on this one.

ariahne jean saphira - Yes..why only kids? Beautiful with mom in it..and more natural!
hein sneygans - Nope its still alive and used today.....just done better......
cindy friesen - This photo like others of the Victorian era were peri mortem photos. These photos were taken when one or more children died, Back in those time the majority of the public could not afford pictures of their children to be taken so these were precious momentos were taken for the memories of the departed. The photographer usually colored in the eyes of the dead and covered the mom out of respect.Living siblings would also be in the picture. This might be the only photo the family had as rememberance because they were so expensive.
durian rock - go to middle east you will see a lot of these people
bob gowans - Birth of the Burka!
sharon morey - during that time, it was also common for photos to be taken of dead children in their caskets. So many kids died these were keepsakes that were displayed. The Victorians (thanks to Victoria) did cling to the dead.
bill carnes - Well, at least it gave Muslim women a profession!
kathleen marie smith - Not nearly as bizarre as propping up the dead for a final photo sometimes the only photo
leslie epstein - Wow they all look like they were taken in Afghanistan.
misses purcell - Aislin wow, kinda creepy too!
carol moseley - Given the newest of photography very few got their pictures taken, back then they were charged per person in the photo. Also the reason no one smiles it toom to long for the photos to develop. There no such thing as point and shoot, and done in thee seconds.
