[paulo ribeiro] - Kate? you lost?! xD
[corey mcloughlin] - ''This is not our fight''
[kristian dobson] - I'd make her quiver with my arrow.
[rené heriberto grande alas] - Amazing quote...that's what i ask myself everyday. Amazing movie, amazing Tolkien heritage, amazing...bow :D
[kim uit de bulten] - Can I get her bow?
[joseph palmer] - It is not our fight.
It is our fight.
[fotis acheron] - Just imagine her with moon skin white light hair and dressed in black! I WANT A MOVIE with Dark Elves !
[michelle haynes] - Don't see why they felt the need to put a chick in the movie that wasn't in the book. The book sold plenty of copies without a female character.
[charlie day] - nategni je mala vilo
[doug moncsko] - Why did my brain jump to Link for this >.<
[dimitris zotos] - Evangelin so pretty woman...! I'm LOST in her beauty.
[princess maria dilmar] - I love itttttttttt ...........
[jonathan garza] - when we let evil do evil.
[daniel verhoeff] - Why is Jefferson tagged while its evangeline :o ?
[mieke maes] - Wat een mooie pose? Wat een goed verhaal!
[jefferson oliveira] - o hobitt and The Lord of the Rings foreverr
[aaron rodriguez] - Arwen is soooo awesome
[benjamin bernhart] - That is so not how you shoot a recurve bow. C'mon fingers should be at the corner of you're lip.
[thomas m. arnott] - When we stopped being vigilant
[maxwell ransom] - The CGI is just to much...go back to the old ways Peter
[logan morley] - Kate from lost ;)
[yee lexus sport coupe] - I don't think that is Arwen
[abrarur rahman] - Guess they thought the movie won't.
[syed rizwan ali shah] - I wonder if Legolas love her
[michael mcguire] - Even though Arwen was in the books they basically added her to most of it. Adding a new chick isn't much different.
[hakan demir] - Forever Legolas :-D
[noah helinski] - Legend of Zelda meets The Hunger Games
[alice kulyk] - you not allow, its just made for him self'
[jamie mclain] - When we forgot how strong goodwill can be
[danny 'panic' parkinson] - What happens when you spend too much time in the jungle.
[la ssor] - It's just a movie get over it..
[jo-anne strain] - Now I miss Lost!!
[michael collins] - Previously on lost...
[robert burns] - A week last Tuesday.
[dan a daykin] - Cock fletching is pointed the wrong way if she plans to shoot the arrow from that side of the bow.
[omar dweller] - She is the perfect Link O_O
[tanya hartley] - LOVE that Evangeline Lilly is in the next Hobbit film! Re-watching Lost at the moment (for the millionth time) and she's just awesome :)
[facu sf] - OMG she's perfect for the role.. She really looks like "elvish"..
[leiko ren] - Of course it's not Arwen.
[vartevar sarkissian] - Evangeline Lilly!!!! <3 mmmm
[tobias carlsen] - About the time money was invented
[nicola cherry] - It's Bingolfin!!
[thiago miguel] - This elve not belong to the book The Hobbit
[kyle driscoll] - that's not canon.
[bruno diaz] - Who knew that island turned out to be Middle-Earth...
[alischan akhtar] - So, she is the daughter of Link and Zelda then?
[joe bergeron] - I think it was in 1981, toots.
[atul pawar] - thats a composite bow .... and i am not talking of the weapon..
[danjal jannik nyberg] - Just keep it up with posting pictures, that way we'll all know the story before the movie opens and we won't have to spend any money to go see it ;)
[micah muma] - when u let the hobbit have the ring ...
The Hobbit: "When did we allow evil to become stronger than us?" - 50th Comments
[maycon assis] - if link was a girl...
[stephanie roca] - This woman, is she in Tolkien's work?
[alex o'hanlon] - I think it was an awesome idea to throw in a bit of girl power, not only is it fair, but it gives us a look at the lower class elves! Also the movie needs to differ from the book, or wheres the fun? XD @Chris Bassett, oh dear god... Twilight is the most horrific thing I have ever seen... What kind of VAMPIRE SPARKLES?! Also, the least girl powery movie/book invented! Think of characters like Max, Yoruichi, Soi Fon, Rukia, Erza, Morgiana, Alyss, Katniss.... I'm gonna stop.
[michal friedmann] - It is not our fight.
[irene lamontagne] - I a$k this que$tion everyday -_-
[mehmet korkmaz] - This woman, is she in Tolkien's work?
[klaus saretzki] - Better as Legosteinas? ? ?
[nicolas carmi] - Uhm, Frodo had allowed evil to become stronger than him... "the ring is mine" he said. In Sam's shoes I wouldn't have helped him and let him burn with "his" ring!
[rogério frego] - The picture is beautiful, but I don´t like this actress.
[aaron parsons] - Non-canon, get out.
[sara joy grzybowski] - Wow! Skyrim's graphics are amazing!
[gordon mcwhirter] - Evil had always been stronger... First morgoth then Dayton. First one required divine intervention the second only lost to a lucky strike... Haha
[yee lexus sport coupe] - I believe that is 'TAURIEL!
[rey reyes] - What is this????????? New movie
[thiago spegiorin] - Oh, no, not this elf thing again...it feels like The Two Tower`s FlashBack.
[andy white] - 1. Your, not "you're" 2. A mouth anchor is just one of many used by various cultures.
[todor peev] - Fake character. Cant see it in book.
[franciszek skoryna] - Are you "wulcan" or are you elve???
[gabriel claesson] - VIDEOBLOG PLEASE!
[dean walker] - We have to go back!!!!!!!
[daniel fiore] - I used to be on Lost, and then I took an arrow to the knee
[katelyn elizabeth meyer] - Ugh... J.R.R. Tolkien created a masterpiece full of new languages, creatures, memorable characters. One of a kind. Why do we have to change what he spent so many years creating? Tauriel was a made up character by Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh... As a huge fan of the books and the original movies I'm sad that these movies are lacking soul and true story telling... 10 years for this?
[sam drower] - About the same time we started making up original characters to put in a classic story?
[michael turner] - Oh come on, if the film was just like the book it wouldn't be a good film. Sometimes, it has to be different for the fact that its on the screen and not literature
[summer drouant] - More importantly, when did we allow Evangeline Lilly to pretend to be an elf?
[leiko ren] - dude, that's not Arwen.
[maria eduarda sisdeli] - Da uma chance pra ela galera, aceitem ela ja esta no filme, chingar e criticar não vai mudar nada.....
[conny andersson] - Have you been sleeping under a rock?
[marc wolfsteiner] - This works as a perfect fable for today's world situation.
[josh dasher] - when did we allow Peter Jackson to make elves that look like video game characters?
[tony petersen] - Tolkein was the first to admit his story wasn't perfect and could be improved on. Having stronger active female roles is one and which he would approve
[marcus j. nostiz] - KATE GOT lost IN MIDDLE EARTH !!!
[muhammad nausherwan] - we? I DIDN'T ALLOWED ANYTHING
[eric s smith] - when did u not allow hot elves into your movies
[katelyn elizabeth meyer] - Had NOT ONE issue with the original movies and they were changed, just disappointed with the outcome so far of The Hobbit... High expectations I guess...
[mckenna anderson] - ...elves arent supposed to have red hair...
[aleksandar vujovic] - When did we allow Kate in MiddleEarth?
[trevor mullins] - Yeah, story no good with women folk. Story should be only men! Women stay in cave!
[vasilic fotakopoulos] - cant wait for hobbit 2 !!!!
[saieed izadinia] - i dont know! maybe yesterday or a day before yesterday!
[adriano parente pereira] - I thought that too, when I "Sawyer"
[earl lee] - When Obama got elected . . .again.
[john wormwood] - We have to go back Kate
[camera obscura] - God, elves, elves and more elves. What was the name of the book (and film), again????? What is the central plot of the book/film? Is all that being swept away in favor of... what gain?
[sebastian thurmond] - It makes Peter Jackson write characters into movies that never existed in the book and see $ signs.
[katelyn elizabeth meyer] - That what I keep hearing, we need woman empowerment, well then so be it...
[jerry may] - She was great on "Lost".
[conny andersson] - How can you say "lacking soul and story telling"???
[chinmayee gopal] - I agree. I don't even like her look here. Or the lines she has been given (trailer). They are quite cliched.
[noah kotzin] - When Mitt Romney ran for president
The Hobbit: "When did we allow evil to become stronger than us?" - 100th Comments
[mike block] - Well, Legolas wasn't in the book either. But they felt the need to include him too.
[alexis chris] - I think it was about the time we allowed new characters in an already complete fictional universe.
[simone garofalo] - this movie explains lost's series finale...
[chinmayee gopal] - should have stayed lost!
[lance walters-unrau] - I disagree completely, Tauriel is only a vehicle to further emphasize the work of Tolkien, providing insight into other aspects of his work both in gender and class of the elves. It is a film made in the 21st century, a word for word "adaptation" would be the soulless one.
[krystin marie] - that is some really unattractive hair dye
[william hsu] - You know, Mirkwood isn't that murky here.
[mark zwald] - That elven bow, straight out of Skyrim.
[louis jacquot] - Une pâle copie.
[josh dasher] - Not even remotely.
[roam gloam] - She's out of your league, she'd give you the shaft.
[chinmayee gopal] - I really, really, really need a dislike button for this character. And the lines- so @#$&%* cliched!
[ole johannes ferkingstad] - And now i want to see the Lost tv show again :)
[andrew joseph hipius] - Answer to the caption: When we started making up characters that have little to no place in the original story just for the sake of including an attractive actress.
[tony petersen] - Thanks to Robin Hood, Hunger Games and Hawkeye, archery is getting popular again. I like that she is using the side quiver and look forward to seeing it in action
[kristian dobson] - No, I'd give her the 'shaft.'
[jessica gibbs malueg] - Yeah Red Headed Elf bout time
[evan morris] - THAN WE!!!!!!!!!!!!
[chuck pollet] - I love Evangeline Lilly.
[jan meyer] - Look at that CGI
[sumanth krishna] - When we feel fear in inside
[roam gloam] - LoTR was created before Skyrim. Skyrim copied Jackson's vision.
[caitlin corbett] - Michelle, I agree hardcore. I LOVE the book, always have. Not a fan of this addition. But I guess we'll see.
[deonna khanda lor] - Glad they put a female in it. I love the movies, but as a woman it's great to see female empowerment. Can't wait...
[paul fowler] - Can't wait to see the next film.
[matthew maler] - And...who is this?
[ionel motrescu] - She is beatiful.
[brenda steenis] - Not in the book.
[katelyn elizabeth meyer] - I think the original trilogy was flawless and I felt for the characters. In The Hobbit I didn't feel connected to any of the dwarves or the deeper meaning to the story... for those that haven't read the book it's just another action film and they can't appreciate it!
BECAUSE ITS SO AMAZING!!!!
Ok. Maybe I'm bias because Evangaline Lilly is in it and Lost is my enemy lol
[ed keller] - When Johnson took office from a blood-stained limo.
[christopher pepe] - The only reason she is in this movie is because she is extremely attractive and Hollywood feels the need to create attractive female characters in places they have no use being.
[gary meulemans] - I can't wait to see the love triangle between her, Gollum, and Bilbo! She'll go back and forth the entire time!
[lee loo's murrells] - oh dear...queue lots of people whinging 'not in the book!' *yawn*
[alex lansdowne] - 2/10 would not bang.
[brooke maxwell] - who is that!? Legolas's mom?
[aaron rodriguez] - ohhhhhh so she is played by the same actress as Arwen? I didnt know
[mervin loveszbrush] - Was disappointed with the Hobbit too. Going to keep my expectations really low for the next one.
[roger harrington] - When did we allow a good story to be ruined with silly characters that do nothing for the story?
[angel tamanna] - no never...they may have such a sharpen blades bt they can never compete with the sharpen minds of dwarves n our burglar bilbo baggins
[snark bait] - Link! Just kidding.
[tim dekker] - Love the quotation.
[alexios papananiadis] - I disagree with this out of the book creation
[jeffrey dean root] - How about treat the books and the movies as separate forms of art. Variations on a theme.
[aaron rodriguez] - ohhhh wait i Know who that is! isnt that the girl from Lost haha , they kinda looks like twins
[andrew pedone] - Only when PJ makes up characters that weren't established in the book.
[joshua seth brookhouse] - She looks awesome! And I don't care that she isn't in the book.
[oliver hallam] - That better not be a CGI bow, that would be just lazy
[devin baumann] - Oh, token character...
[chris dreesman] - It's a good line.
[faelivrin lorien] - this is no Tolkien.
The Hobbit: "When did we allow evil to become stronger than us?" - 150th Comments
[neven vukić] - Aragorn was walking around with a broken Narsil in the LOTR books. I guess Jackson should have had Viggo fight orcs with only a handle of the sword to satisfy your distinct "Tolkienish" knowledge... Jesus Christ I am sick of these new "Tolkien experts" and purists, go crawl under a rock and stay there.
[william newton dunstan iii] - Btw, tolkien was missing plenty of description on most characters in The Hobbit - "The Elf King"
[rubén moya vázquez] - when we got a redhead elf!!
[brian l adams] - Since Corporations now own and run US Legislators!
[andrew zachary robinson] - When did we start giving girls bows?
[india atkinson] - They did the same thing to the Lord of the Rings, so arrogant, they think they can make it better than Tolkien himself by adding and changing characters. Saw the first installment, I think I'll wait for DVD rental on Netflix this time.
[kristina losito] - I LIKE the addition despite loving the book. I think, and Game of Thrones is a PERFECT example, that new additions/moderate changes need to be made to keep readers surprised.
[stephanie wade] - ummm, Tolkiens elves had every color of hair humans had, it was Jackson's budgeting that made them all blonde - and is technically inaccurate (and a bit racist)
[jilal jahangir] - Since it began to sell?
[melanie hogarth] - WHY does everyone feel the need to change things all the time! Add this, add that, it wont sell, blah blah blah...LEAVE IT ALONE and use a different story if you feel the need to watch female characters, etc. The book stands alone as is.. UGH! Who cares if Tolkien said his story wasn't perfect, etc... it is fine as it was written. Go watch a chick flick if you want to see female characters..this is a male dominated story.. WHO CARES! Siiigh. Thanks for listening :)
[jim grayson] - Evil became stronger than us when we, as a nation, turned our backs on GOD! Very simple answer, with a very simple cure- Turn back to GOD and HE will heal our land, as HE promised in HIS Word.
[natasja mengerink] - And Legolas? ls he n the movie as well? Thought lve seen him ln the trailer? Hope so! Hope lt ls Orlando again.. This woman can't play ln stead of Legolas.. :o Does anybody know?
[alice bonifazi] - When did we allow mary-sues to become elves?
[nick carlson] - Milady, don't the orcs see us as the evil ones?
[arthur wallis] - I don't remember that from the book
[aisheguul yilmaz] - tamm elf olucam bir sonraki hayatımda hatırlatın bana
[amanda westlund] - Natasja: No, this chick is not doing the role of Legolas.
[lisa webber] - Is that Evangeline Lili??
[nico böttcher] - Am I addicted when I say she looks like "Sherwood Forest Ashe" from LoL?
[stuart eaker] - It wasn't in the book, these films are total rewrites! Wish Peter had just filmed it as is in the book!
[mikael pettersson] - Warning : Troll Confirmed..get real..FFS
[magda ivanoff] - Can not wait for this movie in December.
[mikael pettersson] - Warning : Troll Confirmed..Get real FFS..
[joseph hilditch] - All you Book enthusiasts talking about how this is nothing like it was in the book just show how closed minded you really are. There is no such thing as "text purity" only the original story. In movies things have to be changed.
[bryan caldwell] - There were other things happening at the same time as the events covered in the book, that were not written about.
[stuart eaker] - No need to add to the story, no trolling here just facts
[mikael pettersson] - Trololololololololololllllolol..........
[bárbara riffo] - She is perfect <3 but she doesn't exist in the Tolkien's world :'(
[mikael pettersson] - Troloololololololololololololloolololololol.......
[mikael pettersson] - Troololololololololol......
[becca combs] - That screen shot looks like an image straight out of Skyrim.
[tereza libigerová] - dont like her hair :-//
[darren mowbray] - Absolutely pointless character. Not required at all. All because there were no "strong" female characters in the book. The book was written in a different era. JRR was known to have a bit of "women in the kitchen" attitude but so what? As I said, different era. Funny how Hollywood want an endless line of strong independent women in movies but yet dress them like prostitutes! And sexualise them to the max.
[dani oliver] - Hi Link, say hi to Zelda!
[anna holmlund] - She may not be part of the book but she was created by Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh as an expansion of material adapted from the book. I have not read The Hobbit yet, I do intend to do it though, but I have read somewhere that the council that took place in Rivendell in the first movie was not part of the book either. I love Tolkien just as much as you all do.. please give this a chance :) I think Evangeline will do an amazing job :)
