[dominik wiggum] - and if everything goes wrong, it's Obama's fault
[m. jason newell] - They didn't mention the bill is written by the lobbyists, eg ALEC.
[elizabeth hamill] - There are lobbyists representing many, many sides of issues. Average citizens could start their own "membership organization," collect dues, and lobby Congress on issues important to their organization. That's how government works and that is how it has worked in this country since the very beginning. Lobbyists are not the enemy of citizens...apathy is. Would ALEC even exist if a group of conservatives hadn't put their heads together to create it? Come on, progressives...work within the system. It is possible to beat conservatives at their own game.
[jessica alexis steele] - Dollarocracy is alive n well in America
[ann stephens] - Don't forget the bill is actually written by the lobbyist.
[david vallely] - The best government money can buy.
[giovanni dania] - Well there's your problem, Daniel, you're not lobbying for the fat cats. How many laws HAVE been made through your efforts anyway?
[jerry holzer] - HAHAHAHA by the way this is true for both parties
[michele horton] - get money out of politics! It's the di~sease of our country!!!! and don't let corporation representatives write the laws!!!
[stephen andrew ermert] - Remember, a generalization. This is like saying all white people are racist or Asians are bad drivers. Not all lobbyists are bad. Some fight for a cause and for the greater good. They just typically are out spent by the types that are being talked about here
[deb warner] - There are also a lot of lobbyists who are trying to gain support for good causes, like children, women;s rights, education and the environment, just to name a few and they don't have fat bank rolls or special access. They are just working for something they care passionately about that could do many of us good. Don't diss everyone because of some bad actors.
[daniel leong] - Um, I find this EXTREMELY offensive, since I'm a lobbyist. I don't get paid, I don't bribe officials. I just go in there, meet with the Senators about Joseph Kony and the LRA (the issue I am fighting against, with the help of Invisible Children), and the senator/representative votes yes or no (most times yes). With people like me, laws are made. Not all lobbyists are bribers or get paid. In fact, quite a few people lobby as a form of activism. Get your facts straight.
[bob ruiz] - Huh? That's not how I learned it on Sesame Street. SMH
[laura alexander] - No, this isn't the way it is supposed to work but it is the way things are now. VOTE!
[vittorio felaco] - The GOOD OLD BOYS spoil everything!
[gloria groulx mcgovern] - Nick, when has congress followed through on anything our president has wanted?
[michael brandy baldwin] - Generally the bill is written by the corporation and given to the politician through the lobbyist.
[steve robinson] - Unfortunately, this seems to be how it works nowadays.
[deb weltsch] - Like our energy policy --written by Dick Cheney's secret Energy Task Force (Enron, Halliburton, Exxon-Mobil, etc...) conferring $billions to profitable corporations and only a small share for renewable energy. http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/story?id=121535
[rl garritson] - Democrats and republicans both are guilty of this. They also pass bills without reading them first.
[wolf bro] - I liked the original Schoolhouse Rock version better.
[linda hill] - Or even MORE efficient: The special interest Lobbyist writes the bill so the elected official doesn't have to be bothered with that detail and when enough votes have been purchsed the bill becomes law.
[mardi matthews] - Not how it is supposed to be yet, this is how it is!!!!!!! Greed and lies.
[chelsea henning] - I remember lobbying in D.C. When I was in high school. We got our bill passed into law in a few states that year. So rewarding to be successful when it's for a good cause (anti bullying bills for public schools)
[brent collins] - I think it works something like this now: A bill is proposed by group that supports Congressperson A and written up, Congressperson B co-signs on the bill to please his own crazy-ass niche group. The bill is proudly trotted out to Congress, they spend six months arguing about it. Democrats attach two million dollars in pork to the bill to satisfy their niche groups. Republicans attach two million dollars in pork to appease their corporate handlers. Bill passes and goes to the Senate. Democrats attach an additional six billion dollars to the bill to satisfy their constituents. Republicans attach another six billion dollars in spending, and a rider stating that every sperm is sacred.
Bill to ban cell phone use while driving nationally is buried in the Senate.
[lois petersen-vivian] - Corruption at its finest
[channah polis] - Yup yup! Perfect way to explain this to ppl who don't understand basic civics.
[kit blumenstein] - "I'm just a bill, I'm only a bill" - that was then, this is now. Poor old bill, out of work.
[nanci gentile] - Sad but true! How can we change this?
[gloria groulx mcgovern] - Nick, remember when Boehner and the GOP said they wanted to serve the people? NOT
[jake garlick] - Pretty sure that it has ALWAYS worked that way. It's just the stuff that they do not teach you in school about growing up. Why do you think hemp got banned in the US? It was a protectionist measure. This has been going on way before 2013.
[vicki love] - aption should read: Free Our Dumb Nation by Educating
[jeanette nicola] - Thats about the size of it
[joe reddy] - This is not specific to the US, Canada works this way too....
[james lee stanley] - Lobbying is illegal in Europe.
[grecia lopez] - Egh the sad truth
[mia wachsmuth] - Doesn't go with the tune real well, but...OK
[peter mancero] - Remember this commercial when I was a kid
[brad ford] - don't call it a bribe if it's been legalized.
[dryvonne henderson] - As a social studies teacher this is hilarious.
[jennifer buchanan lawrence] - because in "The Land of the Free" nothing much is free.
[robin meny] - Ban all lobbiests... unless they go door to door and present only what "THE PEOPLE" want...!!!
[michael tompkins] - No, this is not how it's supposed to work, yet it now does. Maybe it always has, but now we know. The question is how long will we let it be like this???
[jane hurst] - A bill is written...by ALEC, a business lobbying consortium, which is then proposed by the legislator.
[david crowell] - the truth is the truth
[joseph burnett] - I was wondering how the affordable care act got implemented, thanks that clears that up.
[bernard phillips] - How twisted! We must teach them differently...
[randy rhodes] - Ya, like your president you dip shits
[helene millas] - That's EXACTLY how it works, unfortunately!
[nancy davis leachman] - So fun to see "Bill" out and about again....
Being Liberal: (M) This is not how it's supposed to work.

[randy lee] - Damn, you found out !!!!!!
[hank odum] - Too bad, but true - usually !!!!!
[julee mortensen] - This used to be Conjunction Function!
[don campbell] - Yes....and they wrote the Bill that cancelled my Health Insurance yesterday. The new policy will cost $472 more each month and will have double the deductible. "If you like your plan, you can keep it" - Obama (LIAR)
[bonnie wade depalma] - of course there going to blame Obama...for some people its easier.........
[john janning] - you left out the part about how ALEC writes the laws that their bosses pay for. hearing some legislators speaking publicly, i am convinced that they could not write a haiku... much less corporate-friendly legislation
[joe butler] - The unadulterated truth. But they are outnumbered if only we pull togather and run the takers out of gov.. Only greed and deception is running both parties by letting the big money buy our "our" gov.. So I'm told- it looks like it's true.
[roger k. wilcox] - True democracy in action....BS!!
[roger k. wilcox] - The land of the free...what a joke!!
[leonie shaw] - Agreed! That is not how it is supposed to work!
[jimmy pusinsky] - THIS HAS TO STOP!
[sara randall] - wow that's the real truth bill
[sanity clause] - Official-dumb... :/
[debra mcgraw finn] - Don 't exactly remember this from School House Rock!
[fred sprague] - This is the result of the misguided concept that money equals free speech and that corporations are people. Concepts only a corporation can love!
[kyle brandt] - Yeah did you hear about that bill passed earlier this week where $21B was put in by major companies for future bailouts? 5 republicans and 4 democrats proposed it and it passed. @dale Anderson @elizabeth hamill. How ignorant can one be to follow a single party to the grave so blindly?
[scott hauck] - Sad but F...... True!
[donna whitman vance] - And it's all perfectly legal because the people getting their palms greased are the ones who make the rules....and these are the people we elected to represent..."the people"!
[robert knapp] - Tea baggers employ the Hastert rule which is a made up law. Unless a majority of Republicans favor the bill there is NO VOTE. Tea Baggers claim they follow the Constitution which is Bull Crap because the Hastert Rule is not written in the Constitution..
[bogdan bilyk] - Outlaw ALL lobbying and get lobbyists out of Washington.
[dale anderson] - Damn those republicans!
[simon rubenstein] - then, Billy- you end up with the best government money can buy!
[roselee bernstein] - I really enjoyed watching these "BILL" shorts when my boys were young.....maybe they should be required watching my new members of congress, along with what the Constitution says and taking a citizenship test
[diane askwyth] - sickening political system

[juanita elias] - they should all be in prison for accepting bribes. they would put you there, and they are not better than you are, just wealthier so they get away with being crooked.
[linda carpenter] - No, it's not supposed to work this way, but reality, unfortunately, is often thus.
[donald cooper] - Like how insurance rates went up?... insurance company lobbyists...
[franklin tinnin] - This is the truth
[kathleen bryant] - "And if Ted Kennedy fights back, I'll say that he's gay" or I suppose and other politician's name can be put there
[penny mattson] - Ahh, the American way!
[manfred kramer] - yep! that's EXACTLY how it's done: politics for the completely dumb :P
[ken burns] - I agree, bills are written by lobbyists and rarely read by the bill's sponsors!
[al banks] - the new world order
[patrick mckee] - Pretty sad, but so true
[christian mitchell] - Oh, great, now I have that song stuck in my head!
[lacarla hodge] - That just about sums it up!
[patrick kerrigan] - So who are the lobbyists that we can blame for obamacare
[kayleen reutzel hall] - Perfect explanation for our present system
[julie crowley] - And the bill is written by the lobbyist. And your 'grassroots' movements like the tea party, you can thank the deep pockets of the Koch brothers for that one.
[marcus cooper-longoria] - Hard not to do when there's more bad then good
[mb wethington] - This straightens it out for me, I had always wondered just exactly how it worked.; hee hee mb
[edith darline smith] - No, it is not supposed to work this way, but it pretty much does! It goes back to "follow the money" and watch your government in action!
[denise tullis] - and those not receiving monies philibuster the bills and vote against them time and time again
[catherine milly le page] - Worked for I522 in my State, and for prop 37 before that :(
[karen hart] - Political Science 101. It doesn't have to be like this.
[britta karin james] - And that is called a Democracy.
Being Liberal: (M) This is not how it's supposed to work.
Thanks to FreeDumb Nation for sharing this. - 100th Comments
[james ryan] - It's not the lobbyist or corporations..it's the politicians who accept these bribes and don't think twice about the people who elected them.
[pat peddicord] - This is exactly true and then more "Pubs" make more money.
[linda levinson] - We need a law against lobbying.
[lisa f. savage] - sadly this is accurate.
[david menard] - unfortunately true
[jorge sosa] - that's the way it works almost everywhere
[dorothy e michalek] - and then you have Faux News to tell you how to think this is a great bill!
[keith garris] - Like yesterday???? The UNIONS got a partial exemption from Obamacare!! Like that??
[rome colmenares] - And yet STILL you maintain faith in big government. If you understand this, it is the pinnacle of foolishness to support the push for ANY additional power for government. You are empowering a corrupt machine.
[ralph huntington] - "a bill is written" BY THE LOBBYIST
[samantha davis] - Check out these interesting facts on Andrew Jackson, 7th U.S. President: http://socyberty.com/history/interesting-facts-about-andrew-jackson-3/
[brenda horninger] - Sad but true truth
[dennis goff] - Free Dumb rings for all.
[lolita buxton] - How do we clean up that mess?
[darryl f. singleton] - Too sad, but true...
[lynne baker harrison] - Scary but oh so true!
[brian cook] - One of the biggest problems facing this nation. Both sides have corrupt politicians that have let this get so far out of control that besides a revolution I don't know how we fix it
[gregg davis] - I am a bill I am just a bill and I'm sitting here on Capitol Hill and if Boehner says no I will be killed and I will just be another dead bill
[alberta deacon] - Don't 'like.' Sad but true.
[gary hallford] - Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission...
[victor curiel] - I guess this is why the white house is full of lobbyists.
[delight craft] - Did the Founding Fathers anticipate lobbyists?
[daya nikahetiya] - indirect democracy .... people vote for the MP's and they vote for the lobbyists.
[nathan wilmoth] - Now explain ACA!
[jeff seigworth] - but your government makes it work
[reinhard schmidt] - By changing his name!HA!
[claudio heathen] - http://anotherangryvoice.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/the-jp-morgan-plan-for-europe.html
[chuck edmonds] - 35,000 lobbyist and Obama said he would get rid of them out of Washington
[justin o'donnell] - Hmmm sounds like obamacare
[nick voltner] - Remember when obama said he was gonna get lobbiest out of washington??? LIAR!! they still runnin the show...guess thats somehow not his fault tho
[doug fleming] - COOL!.....SO "EVERYONE" IS SUPPOSED TO FOLLOW THE RULE OF LAW INCLUDING THE CONSTITUTION AND THE RULES OF THE LEGISLATIVE BRANCH ACCORDING TO IT?...... John Gaultier ~ (anonmously amended)
VERY IMPORTANT.. ADMIN PLEASE READ AND SHARE !!
THIS MUST GO VIRAL TO EVERY AMERICAN , HERE IS THE TRUTH OF THE SUPREME COURT ABOUT OBAMA CARE...PASS IT ALONG AND KEEP A COPY OF THIS FOR YOURSELF
People of The USA .We are being played as fools. Chief Justice Roberts did not say obamacare was constitutional..read his RULING ..
He said that the mandate was NOT Constitutional and that the ONLY WAY THAT the federal government could enforce obamacare is to to enforce it as a tax....
WELL here is where the obamacare mandate is unconstitutional..Right when Justice Roberts made that ruling THE ACA/OBAMACARE should have went BACK to congress and should have been VOTED ON BY EACH MEMBER OF CONGRESS AS A TAX .. IT WAS NOT.
The House did not pass obamacare as a tax..they said that it was NOT a tax..Obama said it was not a tax....the rest of the Democrat leadership strongly affirmed it was not a tax.
The Obama Lawyers argued their case saying it was not a TAX...For reasons unforseen, and in no manner I can find honorable, the bill was twisted and contorted like a cheap soggy pretzel and called a TAX by Court Justice Roberts in a very narrow 5-4 decision.
So DO NOT BE FOOLS PEOPLE .. *OBAMACARE IS ILLEGAL.
BECAUSE OBAMACARE/THE ACA Originated in the SENATE and a Tax cannot originate in the Senate.......................
LET US SAY THAT AGAIN.....A TAX BILL CAN NOT ORIGINATE IN THE SENATE.....
A TAX BILL CAN ONLY START IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY.....OBAMA has unlawfully changed the "false" law by giving exemptions and waivers to Corporations, Big Business and Labor ..
*HE HAS NO LEGAL STANDING TO DO THIS...IF OBAMACARE HAD BEEN LAWFULFULLY CREATED.....ONLY CONGRESS COULD AMEND IT....NOT THE MAN TRYING TO PLAY EMPEROR IN THE WHITE HOUSE.
He is an Alinskite Radical revolutionary and his lap dog Main Stream media Knows the Alinski rules and is REPEATING THE LIE over and over and over again so it becomes the new reality..
JUST BECAUSE YOU HEAR SOMETHING ON THE NEWS DOES NOT MAKE IT ACCURATE .. They are trying so hard to make us all believe that Obamacare is legal BUT IT IS NOT LEGAL...
Lets work on taking the IRS to court if THEY try to garnish your bank account when you OPT-OUT ..go to (generation opportunity.org) AND (cchfreedom.org)
There will be a chance for class action law suits against the Federal Government but we cannot take them to court until they try to tax us for not having health insurance .
PLEASE SHARE THIS
[john newport] - This I agree with. The problem is, the more government you have, the more corruption you have. It's simple mathematics
[jon smith] - you see i could have learned faster this way. by the truth
[frank pietro] - I remember those Saturday morning public announcements!..in between the cartoons. .what a blast from the past
[don bruce] - Works the same in Canada eh!
[john manley] - Before we go making blanket statements about lobbyists, I would remind you that every organization, including ones you and I agree with and depend on, uses them. While some, mostly big-business and the religious right, rely on bribes, this is by no means the case for every lobbyist, nor for every organization.
I know several "lobbyists" who do amazing work that actually benefit the American people, and chances are you do as well. While the system is certainly in need of reform, and big business certainly has their hands in some ugly dealings, to simply blame "lobbyists" is like blaming activists because you disagree with some causes that some activists may stand for.
[mrroach.com] - But But BUT, Obama promised HE WOULD kick the Lobbyists out of Washington?
