An update on the snake that killed 2 young boys, in New Brunswick, has been identified as a African Rock Python.
Their diet consists of large rodents, monkeys, warthog, antelopes, fruit bats, monitor lizards and even crocodiles in forest areas, and on rats, poultry, dogs and goats in suburban areas. There main predatory tool is constricting there prey and causing death by cardiac arrest or suffocation.
Not surprising that this snake killed a 5 year old and 7 year old boy in there room above the pet store where the snake escaped from.
Animals such as this should not be pets but sanctuaries and such wildlife preserves are a minor exception. This of course is under certain conditions and situations.

[jarret fields] - do snakes normally choke out creatures the size of a 7 year old then leave it to go choke out a 5 yr old? normally one of them would have got eaten first.
[noella luciotti] - They may have been somehow angering or provoking it.
[jordan m schenkels] - youre fucking stupid for not reading the whole story before opening your mouth. they were at a sleepover, it wasnt even their home, and it was above a pet store.
[marta lovato] - THEIR main predatory tool.... Constricting THEIR prey... killed in THEIR room... (THEIR shows possession).
Awaken the mind and learn some English people.
Replace THERE with HERE, if you can't use it it's the wrong spelling.
[stephanie steele] - ^ James ^ If you care to investigate the story further you might find that the snake did not crash through the ceiling. It escaped through the ventilation system up into the apartment where the two boys who were having a sleep over at their fronds house and were tragically killed.
[james rasmussen] - This is all horse shit. Your telling me as soon as the snake "fell through the ceiling" both kids wouldn't have run screaming. Even if it got one kid, the other didn't run for the parents? And how the hell did the parents not hear a 100lb python fall through the ceiling.
[caralee pidcock] - They could have been sleeping curled up together.. Who cares how it killed them.. It's a snake not a person with a plan or intent.. Why are people more concerned with how the snake killed them than they are with a family that has just lost not one but both of their children??? So so sad. I can't even imagine that kind of pain and loss. Or how it would feel to have had them for the sleepover and have to deal with that either.. Imagine how the other boy will be treated too.. This is all around a very sad unfortunate tragedy.
[albert l. clark] - If a constrictor is on its prey it will release and retreat if something else attacks it. It will not stay and fight unless cornered in which it will not be constricting the attackers but biting and snapping. I would like to see how the snake did this. Also it would only attack if it was hungry and typically attacks only one animal by itself. Makes no sense to me.
[monique emerald] - It wasn't the parents fault!!! Blaming them is sick! Read the story! IT ESCAPED FROM A PET STORE BENEATH THEIR HOME!!!
[lynda lala michel] - i really hope that the parents sue the fuck out of the pet shop owners for negligence.
[patricia burns] - very odd, how was the snake able to strangle both children w/o someone being alerted by a scream. When you host a sleep over for your child, doesn't your child share the room with his friends??? and what made the father check on these two boys at 6:30 AM alittle early to wake children after a sleep over. Not saying foul play, just very sad and odd circumstance.
[becky carney legere] - This is a true news story, do you want their moms facebook page so you can further upset her? The original poster's spelling does not negate the story.
[becky carney legere] - It turns out the snake lived in the apartment not downstairs at the shop and it got out of its enclosure and migrated to the living room. Funny how his story keeps changing.
[david graham] - Its all true I live in saint john nb where it sharpened
[becky carney legere] - The owner was home and came from the bedroom to the living room saw the hole, the snake and the kids. He is baffled and in shock, they were his best friends kids. Imagine the horror of that.
[jon mize] - I call bullcrap. Pythons never attack like this, and never kill one and then the other.
[christian ortiz] - They should all be exterminated
[becky carney legere] - The owner stated to CBC our local news that the snake fell through the ceiling, his words.
[preston vickers] - they come up through the toilet. the white ones do.
[jordan m schenkels] - they werent eaten-strangled :( theyre still doing a full autopsy to make sure tho
[becky carney legere] - Neither was eaten, both were strangled. It makes no sense.
[janjan tan] - I have 12 snakes as pets all are constrictors, and when i die i want them to slither me into my grave. Haha
[becky carney legere] - Allegedly the snake got in the vents came up through the ducts and fell crashing through the ceiling and then attacked two sleeping kids on the living room floor? Both, not one? The owner didn't hear anything? Where was his kid if it was a sleepover? Why weren't the vents grated to prevent such an incident?
[jarret fields] - any pics of the ventilation grate that the 15 ft python squeezed through? i think the end of the news article says it all... "officials are looking to ban (tax and arrest the owners of) exotic animals."
[charles nye] - That's fucked up
[michael grattan] - We need proof, Press/media is not proof, They twist & lie about stories..
[henrik frost hofmann] - It belongs in the wild
[ted madry] - I just heard on the news that the snake has been put down
[aaron sanchez] - WTF are those animals doing in America anyways.
[haiqal hadi] - crocodiles too???Thats scary.
[jdawg sponagle] - the person is guilty of criminal negligence causing death. thank shit he didnt own lions or tigers oe r grizzly bears etc
[jdawg sponagle] - who ever had ownership of the snake should assume any responsibilty that the snake does .
[jim klein] - did someone save the deer? Hell with the snake
[jamie kile] - http://www.katu.com/news/national/2-boys-strangled-to-death-by-escaped-python-218516341.html
[matt leonard] - Something tells me that the snake isn't having a mutual cuddle. Greedy snake!
[idalis lanzara] - burn it with fire
[jon mize] - Not to mention the poster doesn't even understand the correct usage of their and there, and is most likely an uneducated sheep who thinks everything the news says is gospel
[samantha cote] - NB is right by where I'm from. Catch the snaaaake!
[george calabrace] - If you can't properly house a snake don't have em I have children and snakes of my own its called stupidity and why would someone have an African rock python for a pet like that they are one of largest if not the largest constrictor
[noella luciotti] - I agree with the whole "where were the parents". You don't leave two children that young alone, regardless if they're sleeping.
[erlinda mothercrow cruz] - People need to respect nature I mean come on.
[sarah biernacki] - The patents of those children are fuckin stupid
[leny mendoza] - Who was watching the kids ? A 5 & a 7 year old should NEVER be alone and unattended ! Where were the parents ?
[danielle bowers] - I agree that African Rock Pythons should NEVER be kept as pets, but this story is really really fishy.
[amanda kent] - Honestly, if my snake doesn't want to eat and finds the prey a threat or a nuisance in his cage, he's killed them and left them to rot in the corner of the cage and I've come home to a very smelly room, for those who think they only kill to eat.
[ben emery] - He was just a little hungry
[ian searth] - is there a video of this?
