[damon schrock] - Hurry up and wait! Fix this now please and thank you!
[troy hawkins] - Unfortunately what budget cuts look like. Americans love the idea of cutting the budget but don't actually like the concequences
[claude newman] - Thats the plan; the more vets that die waiting frees up money to be moved to the social programs.......
[jayme perez-flint] - My dad wasn't feeling well and went to the VA to see what was going on... They told him he was fine and scheduled a test for 6 months later. Thankfully my dad had insurance outside of the VA and had that same test performed 2 weeks later. Diagnosis? Pancreatic cancer and a sentence of 6-9 months to live. As a vet myself, and still having no idea what the source of my service-connect is 11 years later, this is the norm. It is beyond frustrating. And no matter how hard we fight, my sisters and brothers suffer...
[dorothy palotai pummill] - Don't blame the hospitals. Blame budget cuts.
[kat mallett] - For the record.... as a VA nurse. We the working staff at the front DO care and do what we can. Im still in the service as a guardsman, my husband served 30+ years and my grandfather served during Korea and my husbands family served during WW2. Please do NOT lump the entire VA into our poorly run administration. Many, many of us DO care and are equally frustrated with a broken system. I wish there was more I could do to get the much needed help to our nations veterans they deserve so much more than what the VA is able to offer them currently. .....
[burt peck] - Why can't our congressman see that this is happening to our vets? Why not open a congressional investigation on the VA to find out the truth on how we as vets are being treated!!!!
[sepi prichard] - Government cutbacks are killing them, while we lavishly send money to Countries that want us dead !
[betsy baker] - I had my husband at the VA at Mather yesterday and we witnessed some exceptional care on a patient. The nurse saved this mans life!! We are very grateful for the excellent care he receives there!!
[chuck adkins] - And now the CBO is proposing to end concurrent receipt of retirement pay and [VA] disability payments for the military. Is enacted, this will do irreparable financial harm to millions of Veterans. Why is this not being proposed for FED GOVT employees as well. Congress as a whole needs to step up and prevent this from happening.
[lynda barnett] - Too many in need and not enough staff or rooms to accomadate.they serve but we cant serve them.WRONG!
[shelley jakell] - And I'm sure the illegal aliens get medical attention fast. That is such a shame. The government needs to take care of our military better than this!
[harry o'connor] - it has been going on for years and oblinko wants to kill the military so the V.A. and benefits go first and he hopes it will wither and dia but he is wrong we will survive and defeat we are RIGHT and we are STRONG because weare AMERICAN VETERANS
[robert burch] - Crack heads on welfare and illegal aliens are a higher priority with this Government!
[russ livermore] - The VA has been killing people for sometime now.The care the Vets are getting is not up to standards, this must change.
[sue dehm] - VA is of no use to my medically retired hubby- they don't treat what he has and won't get him the meds he needs- won't take him there- Right out of the box, they wanted to take him off a med protocol that took three years of tinkering, by two mil docs who actually know about his service connected disease, to get right. to 'see what will happen' and o- after yanking meds the plan was to put him on prozac. he has no need of prozac, in fact, that class of drug is contraindicated for his condition-and the pa knew it- when i questioned her about it the statement was ' i know, but we need to see what will happen. we don't carry the medications he is on anyway."
[dianne johnson] - I love my VA they give me the best treatment, if fact it was ranked 17 in the best VA hospitals inthe USA for treatment of its veterans.
[tom hemsley] - the VA is always given me great care. They are doing the best they can.
[candy gipson dunson] - Not just delays, but delays due to unnecessary testing. I was accused of using drugs and tested for it, left untreated while stuck waiting. I've NEVER used drugs, I have a muscle disease!!! Our local VA could've killed me just because they wouldn't listen.
[carol osborne] - VA is good at holding people money and giving out excuses..sad, sad, sad!
[laura bass] - It's bs thank u Obama
[myriam dinnell] - This needs a lot of exposure to awaken America!
[russell gayneaux] - It will never be fix I,ve have been with VA a long time and it is getting worse not better ,Im 65 was wounded at 20 that is a long time to put up with crap but I have to period !!!
[connie spada] - Please take care of our veterans!
[shirley ann custer] - they don't want you around anymore if you are old. "They" don't realize that it will be "them" someday!!
[martina hambrecht] - OH my GOd, i can'T really find the right words, but it makes me very sad! Everywhere in the world the same thing, cuts at the wrong end! :#(
[sue sassie] - that makes me sick..
[trudy grein] - This is (SOP) standard operating procedure for the VA. They have these signs all over everywhere stating how important veterans are to them. Loosely interpreted that means without veterans they wouldn't have a job. That doesn't mean they're actually going to take care of veterans. They're government employees. Their job is saving the government money. A dead veteran is one less person the government needs to take care of. I know this sounds cynical, but I've seen this repeated over and over again from the time I was a small child in the early 50's watching them ignore my Dad's brain damage and PTSD; to watching them "care" for my husband who is a combat veteran with a disability. Now my son, who is a combat veteran, is experiencing the joys that only the VA can provide.
[david denmark] - Name one government system that isn't crooked .... If u can.
[james hart] - Cheaper on the Insurance companies if they die, than to treat them. Just like PTSD, costly and time consuming, suicide, they pay nothing. It's all about making money. When the general public stops thinking this is Rep VS. Dem. and wakes up... before most of us are sick / homeless / dying / broke / in jail.
[edd ridings] - Ever have to wait in a VA Emergency room for 6 hours with a broken shoulder? Time passes very slowly. Then you are told the reason it's taking so long is that "the people upstairs" have determined that the ER only needs one Doctor after 9 P.M. Yup!
[ed reiman] - SOME are; most are not. Same for civilian hospitals.
[shirley kittrell] - Our Veterans deserve the best of everything. You like America's Freedom!! Thank a Veteran, past and present
[sandra newby] - this is a total disgrace for all our veternas
[jack comeaux] - I cant speak about other VA Hospitals but the Temple Texas VA center is a good one I have no complaints about my service and treatment there.
[gary bass] - The current VA business model is unsustainable. The customer base that the VA serves is shrinking. the largest group of veterans were from WWII and they are dying at the rate of over 800 a day. Korean War veterans are in their 80s, Vietnam Era Veterans are in the late 50s, 60 and 70s. Middle East war veterans are the smallest group to serve due to the vast number of civilian contractors. The practical solution is to allow veterans to integrate into civilian hospitals on a fee for service basis. This is substantially less expensive. I go to a board certified internal medicine physician and it costs $75.00 per visit. I do to a dermatologist and it costs the VA $75.00 per visit. Those two civilian doctors do excellent work and out of that money they pay for their staff, building, utilities, supplies, etc. Fee for Service and NOT new construction or leases. Run the VA like medicare. Medicare has kept my mother healthy; she is 91. You customer base is shrinking. Be smarter with taxpayer money. We are watching for fraud, waste and abuse. Stop building and leasing buildings. The VA can't manage their business now and they want to make the problem bigger by building and leasing more and bigger? Fee for service is the way to go. Pay private doctors and hospitals the same rate as medicare and medicaid (they are the same rates).
[thuyet terrence nguyen] - Fix the USA, Congress, not your party D/R....
[w pete huhtala] - Remember, POTUS Barack Oblivious said that our soldiers should be paying their own medical expenses, because they volunteered.
[georgie walters] - Experience this.. It took my husband "Literally" ( 1/) year to get in to see a MD here in Asheville North Carolina..
They gave him one run around after another.
The VA Hospital in Johnson City Tennessee... is way faster and a whole lot better...
[david nowland] - maybe their plan,i say let the vets live they are us
[merle m. reisinger] - So much for taking care of our American Hero, someone, hmmmm, needs to be strung up!
[ed cooper] - Or they deny you altogether...like me.
[robbie adele hager] - The VA can farm them out to civilian hospitals after all they are the federal 'that's not my job" government!
[polly cowan] - Dear CNN, this is not news..........it's been going on for years. I still won't watch this network
[joseph e martin] - Fought for 20 years to get my disability fairly rated.
[logan shephard] - I waited 1.5 hours after checking in to see my Dr.....it didn't happen so, I just walked out. Two Dr.s left out of Bend, OR they are swamped. My next appointment is in one month and........I am out of my PTSD meds. NO other way to get them.
[kriss crowdis-mann] - I waited 3 years for orthotics. In the mean time my feet got so bad I can barely walk.
[catalina lissett humphrey] - No surprise here
[fran doran] - How about that one. ...
[perry bowers] - U think obuma cares? U DEAD wrong!!
Supporting Our Veterans: Military veterans are dying needlessly because of long waits and delayed medical care at U.S. v - 50th Comments
[luis riosperez] - The way I see it: The US has been producing veterans who are sent to fight worthless wars for the ungrateful. Once the boys get the Vet title the US government must support them, probably for the rest of their lives. Going back to the hospital delays issue- it makes no sense to duplicate or triplicate the Vets roster while using the same medical resources of 20 years ago. This is exactly what they are trying to do. Crazy.
[carol osborne] - all the VA does is give excuses and keeps telling you 3-6 month then 6-9 months then they say we really don't know..shame on them1
[jodi shults] - As I "get a little age on me" I have come to the realization that the gov't really has no use for any of us that may start to cost them. And my husband refused a military funeral; he felt the gov't never really appreciated the men/women that served, and he didn't want anyone to pretend that they did for his funeral.
[tracy thomas] - Is that fair ? No. Did they fight for our freedom? Hell yes
Why screw with them now when they need medical care ? No good reason
[alice casey] - Our veterans deserve the utmost care they gave us their all where would you be today without their service probably speaking another language or labeled as a third world
[barbara trader-chism] - Do you wait no why should the veterans after all they gave their all for you
[myriam dinnell] - There are reasonable budget cuts & this one is not one of them. In addition, this may not even has anything to do with budget cuts, it is just an unfortunate outcome of a gov't. beaurocracy & incompetence.
[patsy mullin] - Our veterans deserve better!!!
[kevin ridenhour] - Took em long enough to figure that out.
[dan curtis] - Disturbing to say the least. Veterans deserve better
[michael prueter] - 500,000 veterans are waiting for heath services!!!
[marion bieganousky] - this is a shame in america when we are giving money to the countries that they fought against
[francis dickson] - The VA needs to SHUT DOWN ALL THEIR HOSPITAL'S AND TURN THEM IN TO HOMES FOR THE HOMELESS VETERANS IN AMERICA. AND OUT SOURSE ALL VETERANS TO REGULAR HOSPITAL CARE. Their insurance cards could be their va id card !!! This is too hard for them to understand.
[shirley sancken] - This should never happen! No one deserves better medical care than those who have given everything to protect our country and our freedoms!
[harold hennis] - unacceptable fix it now not later
[lee irons] - Yes, and it's only going to get worse.
[mark clark] - This isn't new news! Its been going on forever. The VA S _ _ _ S!
[jeannette taylor] - Did it cut into his golf or her shopping budget
[jeannette taylor] - Thanks Obama NOT
[anita houston] - Shameful.............disgusting...........the military keeps us safe!!!!
[susie j hatcher] - I could write a laundry list of things the gov. could change before cutting veteran services. At the top would be Washington salaries and Obama's vacations.
[donna hutton] - If the veteran dies then the V A does NOT have to pay out anything or very very little. So they won't "hurry" up to "help" our veterans. It is very VERY sad. Our veterans fight for our freedoms & rights & not enough people & government care. I know this does not help, THANK YOU VETERANS & YOUR FAMILIES FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE & WILL DO. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
[shirl davis] - They need better + faster help
[karen carman] - And they want to handle our insurance. I have dealt with social security and VA for my mother for years and it is the biggest nightmare I have ever had the goverment needs to stay out of our business!
[marie-luise taylor] - it's a crying shame..........
[mary charlotte hartman] - Has it occurred to you that this is deliberate.
[tony wroblewski] - I have been waiting over a year to get my Herniated Colon put back in my gut. This is what happened after my Appendix was removed May 6th of 2012. That was a contracted V.A. doctor in Branson, Mo. Now Hines V.A. is putting me through a barrage od tests before they operate on me and requested I take Anger Management Class'. Go figure it?
[herb jorgensen] - The VA is aware of a lot of thing they do nothing about
[david c. mellor sr.] - No, Obama is spending all our money on Obamacare, so he can give health care to illegals.
[donald r turlington] - CNN my Butt! Everyone knows this has gone on to long! I am entitled but told my Wife to NOT EVER take me to the VA! I worked there! Trust me, I know!!!!!! incompetent as all get out! Out of everyone I knew, ( close to 300 ) I can name you three MAYBE that gave a crap! And then there's my Uncle, Who almost Bleed to death this past week cause the Dentist pulled the rest of his teeth out WHILE he was on Plavix. He was being weaned off 2nd day.....Dentist went ahead anyway, then sent him home. And then after his Apartment looked like a Halloween scene, His Son took him back, and they sat in the ER for 2 hrs... They admitted him, and called the Dentist, who at 1st refused to come back in and re-do! And WE ALL are going to trust the GOVT & IRS with OB CARE! Hahahahaaaa! Ain't No Way!
[bill m chisholm] - this is the face of Government heath care, the rest of America is next
[john love] - I love the V.A.. Its better and the staff are curtius than any hospital. And the people that complains about the VA. You should thank God u have what u got.
[lana graham] - The problems should have been solved by this time! How many wars, how many Veterans and enlisted men and women have fought and waited? How many more have to?
[wayne hyde] - A prime example of single payer!
[donald smith] - And....Obama care is going to be more efficient. Every time a veteran is denied or delayed shame on us.How long now? How many wars have been fought? And we still can't take care of our veterans adequately. FIX THE VA FIRST.
[tosca truglio manfrede] - Disgraceful. Our veterans should get the best treatment.
[dorene fillius grover] - They deserve better!!
[jeanette cooper] - Do what is right!
[bill morgan] - I have written responding to this accusation previously about letting our veterans die unnecessary in VA Medical Centers. I truly believe that some with CNN have an agenda of making the VA an enemy of our Hero's who have fought for this country.I for one find the stories of CNN deplorable.
[daisy rodriguez] - What a shame this the way to care for those who fought for freedom ect ..
[amanda langendorf] - Yes this is so true. My friend had to go outside va to get a shunt and drainage tube put in because his fluid levels were up in the 30's and was only supposed to be around 17. That kind of fluid on the brain will kill you and almost killed my friend. Thank God he forced hands at the va to pay for outside care in Dallas. ( one of the worst in the nation)
[ruth bosley] - Big surprise!! We've been waiting 14 years for compensation
[deb abbott] - Any condition you have is minimalized just so thje VA doesn;t have to treat you.
[david custer] - I was a volunteer driver for a year,I saw it first hand. Some are good and others are bad.Like I said before, they (population) only know us twice a year.(sad but TRUE)!!!!!!!!
[rosalie fiorino koch] - Is this how we treat our heroes???
[desi adamopoulos] - What the "H" is wrong with this government? complete losers!!!
[mary evans allen] - Please have mercy & fix this now!!
[theresa wyckoff marden] - This is not right. The VA should use the private sector to fast track these Veterans to health care. Do not make them wait until the VA Medical Centers have the room or the time to see them. They should be able to be treated by their PCP for continuity of care. Pay the providers by a fee schedule and get these Veterans the health care they need and deserve!
[sandy beck] - It is so true!!!!!
[jane 'clark' street] - Just What O. Wants!
Supporting Our Veterans: Military veterans are dying needlessly because of long waits and delayed medical care at U.S. v - 100th Comments
[bob callahan] - This is what obamacare will do to the civilians...
[carol merril] - The government likes taking cheap shots at the vets, the elderly, and the poor. Some of the poor are just lazy and can work, so they can weed those out, and have enough to support the rest.
[dianne marie kenney] - This is a disgrace for our nation.
[steve ellers] - that's government run healthcare for ya!
[donald dosch] - I'd like to meet the hero in that uniform. I think he might be a poser. Too many medals and none in the proper location. I'll give you a real Soldiers's picture if you can't find one.
[hellen sneed] - god bless u all u have done u jobs by going to keep us all of safe no it time we step up and help them we owe them or lifes thay give us there
[deb coleman] - This is very wrong. These guys and gals deserve nothing less than the best service and health care
[david lowery] - we have to pay for the lazy people who voted for Obama and his plan he could care less about the veterans what a shame
[janice rahauiser davis] - This has been going on for too long. I am a veteran and the care we recieve for most of the time sucks. I have a great Doctor at the North Little Rock VA but not sure how long he will b willing to stay. If you go to the ER you may wait 6 hours just to have a Doctor see you for 5 minutes. Its not the Presidents fault if people cover up what they are not doing.
[william marceau] - The VA refused to do a knee replacement because "It wasn't bad enough and I wasn't old enough." A civilian doctor X-rayed my knee, told me my knee was really bad, and replaced my knee, and later told me my knee was worse than the X-rays showed. Two years later, I am doing quite well with my new knee.
[daren bell] - Finally CNN is reporting what FOX has known for years now
[randy toman] - We have fought with Pride and Honor for our Country so the government and the young generation would be able to live in peace and the government could rape up
[janice byron deshotel] - They should treat them better than that! They risk their lives for our country.
[don gustafson] - We always have to wait. Iive needed knee replacement for six years now they have me on a waiting list for up to a year and a half. Maybe we should have made them wait when they sent us to combat
[olga schultz] - I Very love American Flag.
[carolel lavine-mcmanus] - Problem is not the VA it is the white house
[moisés de souza] - Hurry up and wait!
[tony genduso] - Thank you government. You REALLY know how to take care of us vets. We give, you take then turn your back on us. I have been having trouble with poor service with the VA for years. They just dont care.
[cara mia konzel] - This is far more than who will be killed by those horrible nurse practitioners you posted the other day
[anne smith] - Yup...they are like...hurry up and die so we dont have to help you
[derek wright] - I'm waiting for ENT surgery approved since 2006 to correct a service connected injury. I scheduled an appointment at Wade Park to try and get on the books for surgery back in December 2012. They had me scheduled for March to see a Nurse Practitioner and he scheduled me to see the ENT Doctor for September and he wants me to have the surgery. As of today I'm still not scheduled and they said they are going to try and do the surgery in 6 months.
[greg marshall] - Somehow this does not surprise me.
[judy richardson] - We were told by V.A. docs that our Dad had 10 days to either get better or .... He died on day 9. Very bad situation.
[eric christophersen] - I visit the V.A. Hospital in Richmond Virginia regularly I have nothing but good things to say. They are the best and their attitude is great. Everything for the Vet.
[luis guzman] - The current medical care in VA is not the greatest, I had to go outside the VA use my Medicare to see a cardiologist who performed an emergency heart cath, he found three block arteries and I had three stents placed in those arteries to correct the problem. I had been complaining to the VA for more than a year about chest pains and they never bother to refer me to a cardiologist. I am lucky to have survived the VA poor medical care, too many people in the VA just worry about their retirement checks.
[david reynolds] - The VA disgusts me. Many of the employees betray our veterans every day with their incompetence, lack of accountability, and lack of care for our soldiers. The Federal Government should make our veterans (especially disabled) a priority and send-in private sector consultants to clean-house and square that agency away!!!
[marc robertson] - I have visited the VA many times and have never had a good experience. I went for knee issues after a deployment and they had me do PT for 6 weeks (40 min drive each way). I did what they asked and they said ok you’re all better and I told them I still had a great deal of pain in my knee. I overheard the doctor talking to another doctor in the next room and she said I was just there to get attention and nothing was wrong with me. I asked for another doctor and when I saw her she said your fine see you in a year for a check up and take some Motrin. I about lost it, I asked for an MRI which surprisingly she agreed to. The only problem was I would have to wait a month and a half to get the scan plus drive an hour and a half away to get it. I ended up calling my civilian doctor that day and was scheduled for an MRI a half mile from my house the next morning. Long story short I was in surgery two weeks later. I just used my civilian insurance and paid quite a bit out of pocket for the surgery. Sure I could have had it free from the VA but it wasn’t worth it in the long run, haven’t stepped foot in a VA clinic in over 4 years.
[jennifer blackiceprincess nelson] - I've been saying this about Dorn for years. My dads one of the vets it took years to diagnose
[bob wilson] - if you kill them then you don't have to pay a disability pension
[richard damato] - Why the problem, did we respond immediately when our country called? We demand the same from the COUNTRY WE DEFENDED! !!!! PRETTY SIMPLE WE SURVERED AND SURVIVED, TAKE CARE OF ALL NOW !!!!!!!!
[terry lee] - Thank the Congress for our veterans suffering, these bums even want to lower funding for veterans!
[phyllis scheets] - That is terrible, they gave their service to our country, and look how they are treated when they come back sick and injured.
[nancy debaca] - Shame - Shame - Shame !!!!!!
[jeremy sublett] - They have to many Vets, for the money (staff), that they have.
[dennis smith] - If CNN is serious about military veterans, disabled, dying of old age, and shooting them selves. START SCREAMING 24/7 DAILY about VA benifits, thru the VA-START KICKING, THE POLITICAL PARTIES, PRESIDENT, 24/7 SCREAM LOUD, As for the un-Supreme Court, close the doors-with them inside until they study the HOLY BIBLE and put their prior deceisons in the outhouse. Now for CHRISTMAS, it is illegal to put a doll in a manger. The President does not have to observe sevaral off government????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[jill blakeslee] - This doesn't surprise me. When the vets at the hospital run out of hygiene items they don't get anymore unless some one donates or families b egg ing it to them.
[bev cochran] - Come on, get it together. They did for you, me and our country.
[ron newkirk] - And there is still plenty of room left under the Obama bus..!
[don stocker] - Because we can't find a freaking parking spot to get in the building!
[michael thompson] - I just received an appt
For respatory. Problem s in Washington D.C. for Nov.26. 13 and I requested this appointment 2 yrs ago when I lived in that area. I now live in Cleveland Ohio .
[benjamin long] - Nothing new under the sun, my father was WIA in Vietnam and his PTSD came not from combat, but from the piss-poor care and service given him by a VA hospital.
[daisy arnold] - Many many prayers to all our veterans n their families. God Bless all Active n Veterans.
[celeida puentes] - Troy, you are right. We support all veterans.
[june j. willis] - Unthinkable!! As the widow of two WWII veterans, I know how much good service is needed by our vets. Disgraceful to let them down when they have given so much to our country!!
[rick romatowski] - My roommate uses the Baltimore VA hospital. He was part of a study when he had a double hernia repair. They failed and it took two years of begging to have them fixed. The patient advocate is useless. He constantly leaves messages and never gets a call . back. He has to devote a day for a routine visit. The desk workers and shuttle driver are nasty and lazy. The place is a disgrace. It's main purpose seems to be to employ people who could not possibly be employed on the private sector,
[merigail anderson] - Folks the va is literally overwhelmed understaffed I have seen vast improvements over the years but with so many new vets coming in there is just not enough resources I believe that a stronger management and fee basis is needed more however, with the federal budget restraints this I not possible
[john c. steffens] - Former General Shinseki is in charge. Remember that he is the @$$hole that made the beret decree some years ago. He also does NOT want a law to provide for the Veterans Administration in case of another shut-down because of not having a budget passed by the Senate.
[richard w. hatala] - thank you mr Obama.
[annie crum] - Why is our country like this??? And no one mentioned all of the suicides. Tears
[tammy luster] - Our government should be ashamed of the way they're taking care of our military men & women! I am!
Supporting Our Veterans: Military veterans are dying needlessly because of long waits and delayed medical care at U.S. v - 150th Comments
[heather johnson] - I am the wife of a Veteran. My hubby is in his 20's. Injuries are bad, but not going to kill him....yet. I am slowly figuring out their system. It is a terrible how they handle our veterans. The workers are saying "it's getting fixed" but I never really see a change until they find something worse with the veteran themselves. Which is what is happening to us and then they hurry to attempt better care. So far it's always too late for too many.
[terri jeffcoat] - The VA needs to hire employees and not use the registries, or more commonly put, "renta-techs" or renta-RN's". We need dedicated employees to help our Nation's best.
[tracy bauld] - This is so sad the V A should have the best Dr.'s there ever was
[david aswad] - Give us are rightful do, the care we earned for the service in the military.
[kathleen manning] - The government is so not looking after there vets. I know..My husband( God rest his soul) Was one of them!!...
[diane luraas] - THATS DISGUSTING
[william h tipton iii] - It appears that this administration and congress could care less.
[judy hayes] - Shame, shame! But we send billions to other countries. Can't w cut it a little for our vets?
[imogene denton tyler] - They fought for country help them to live
[beverly jones] - How can our gov't do this to our vets.
[will selling] - There is now way the Federal Government can fulfill it's obligation to us veterans. So, my Desert Storm buddies and I are creating a non-profit sanctuary that is completely self-reliant, where fellow veterans can stay as long as they carry their weight. Please check out our FB page, American Cavalry. Thank you.
[luther boozer] - We know this, now what can be done about it ?
[amy arceo] - Especially when they are waiting months for their ptsd claims to go through. The rate of suicide is rising with soldiers. Lots of them waiting on claims.
[allison tucker] - Government run helalthcare...... thats all Im saying.
[allan laidley] - The us government should be a shame .....
[pearl grosse] - shame on the people who let this happen
[danielle batista] - Because there are not enough staff at the VA facilities and not enough facilities!! Some appointments are at least a month out!!!!
[brenda ingle schaber] - So sad but true, they should come first, that's the least we could do,especially what they did and are doing for us
[sally lynch] - Wrong, so wrong.
[christopher parker] - I'm a veteran and I can relate to this. If I was extremely ill I would be in a lot of trouble. The VA healthcare system is a mess.
[sue steele] - come on, this is something our government has promised our VETS. Soldiers who have fought for our freedoms so that WE can sleep peacefully at night. And this is how we repay them?
[michael g christiansen] - Delays, or planned refusal to treat vets? Seems the Viet Nam vets are being swept under the rug now, just as we were during the 70's and 80's, yet the sec'y of vet affairs is a nam vet. he should be ashamed, but he does work for obutthead.
[randy burns] - Kept getting pushed back canceled appointments due to being military retiree finally said send me to civilian Dr, found bladder cancer, had an issue since active duty miss diagnosed due to have surgery for colon cancer next week, I'm 53
[jennifer kathleen baxter-smith] - This is ridiculous and sad.
[erin kelly] - Everyone's future ...
[sunny sugar joseph] - keep rocking always
[lisa beth] - Wow...There is no magic cure but I know of a really effective Health Coaching community that could reach out to vets with sensible life changing education : + )
[jodi drier] - Poor vets....they gave us our freedom, and they being treated like crap...
[tina arbitter-rawson] - I unfortunately know all about this. I have lupus and only get to see a rheumatologist 2 times a year and everytime I see a different person. My medical records are not an accurate explaination of the toll this disease has had on my body......I have told my husband that I am ready to die at 33 years old. The VA leaves sick veterans hopeless and helpless!
[sherri cheak] - Ugh..this makes me sick. It's pathetic how our veterans are being treated and for years now.
[john haggerty] - to many injured vets and not enugh veterans hospitals to care for them
[jem mills] - The VA/Fed. Gov. is aware of it... and likes it that way. The faster they die, the less money they have to pay out.
[cynthia chavez] - If it weren't for being my day's health advocate his VA care would have been horrible!
[scott booth] - Welcome to the wonderful world of Government-run Health Care.
[robert calhoun] - The democrat party is trying to kill those which prevent them from making the US a communist/muslim police state.
[lois pavlosky] - Not a very comforting thought to know when the time comes to seek medical care...there's no place to go....
[brian valerio] - The Republicans are the ones cutting the wrong things.
[don doughten sr.] - As per the plan.
[paul johnson] - I'm in the VA Healthcare Syztem and I dread if I ever need critical surgery. Glad I have BOTH my Living Will & Last Will and Testament done. Pfft!
[annamarie sanderson] - You mean CNN is finally getting a clue after ignoring the issue for decades....
[hans muñoz] - God bless our Veterans God bless America.
[ray berni] - SHAMEFUL and UNACCEPTABLE
[barbara holland] - This is exactly what obama wants ---for the OLD people to Die. This is terrible
[becky sims] - Our government doesn't care about our VETS
[david sigmon] - 100 pounds of peanuts in a 5 pound bag. That is exactly what is waiting for Obamacare patients.
[adam c. miller] - The future of Obamacare...
[william susick] - It's cheaper to bury them then fix them . And sad time is not on there side Lord please care for those that have given all for our protection
[maria margarida sullivan] - I agree 100% per cent.
[millie laine] - Now if they were in an American Prison for misdeeds, they would get all the medical care they wanted. Are we screwed up, or what?
[phylis feiner johnson] - http://epilepsytalk.com/2013/05/21/a-little-known-benefit-for-aging-veterans/
Supporting Our Veterans: Military veterans are dying needlessly because of long waits and delayed medical care at U.S. v - 200th Comments
[joann eddy] - This just makrs me ill.wth
[lin whisler] - no Troy, we need government taken down not the people fighting for us...we need to stop all these hand outs and wasted money..and take care of our vets how stupid are we to allow our vets to be treated like this and illegals treated like royalty?..
[michael hodge] - Absolutely Terrible! Govt. hasn't fixed this and instead wants to build a like system for the rest of Americans
[amy k ruger] - This is bs that we can't get the care we deserve because we have dumb and ignorant people who don't care
[maggie clark pezzullo] - I've been saying this for years. My father in law was lost because of this.
[jean mair] - Oh crap! Ya think? This has been going on forever!
[ronald motes] - I'm not understanding why politicians, whom some have not served, get free health and medical yet us veterans have to pay! Were we nothing more than cannon fodder? Do we not deserve anything for serving our country? Some of us live on a fixed income and an extremely tight budget. I'm to the point that I am about to give up my meds. And say the hell with the VA!
[mel edwards] - This is unacceptable for our HEROES to diein such a disgraceful manner!
[tod oldenburg] - because death benefits are cheaper than supporting those that they really don't want to fix/can't be fixed.
[jody lesley] - God Bless you...
[james riddle] - those place better get there act together after all they did for them what a shame
[betty s. turner] - This is awful. Why can't they get it under control? Our veterans are important. Our Congress is NOT!!!!!
[freda henry] - our great president at work
[lino roldan torres] - A Veteran with diabetes type 2, due to agent orange exposure can not get any help unless he or she became to ill into type one diabetes, another word, until he or she is dying, what a shame, this is not just this administration, is all regardless of any party. Who owns QTC? A former VA secretary, he is making millions providing a cheap medical Service to VA using 3 class cheap doctors.
[lino roldan torres] - We cannot trust the service at VA hospitals and clinics, politicians does not know what is going on, simply because they use Bethesda and Walter Reed. Our clinic here at Fort Sill is a good example of this, we have to wait one year to see a doctor, including us with 100 percent disability, VA is doing this on purpose, for us to pass and become another number.
[jan berg] - The thanks we get for serving our nation
[francis t mcvetty] - And this is what the civilian population will be experiencing with Obama care.
[albert dombrowski ii] - I'm I wrong in posting the "military logic" in this? Coldly stating that it's cheaper for the government to allow veterans to die from waiting then provide the services they need. Why so greedy?
[elaine jo mcginn] - All part of his PLAN.... Democrats, are you proud now?
[dawn schneider] - That's how they get rid of the eldery and sick that cost money to take care of.
[beverly hurst reeh] - That is so sad - after what they have done for all of us and fought for our freedom. Why are there so many problems????
[virgil f nevland] - This is totally unacceptable and the director and chief of staff should be fired. It is incidents like this that gives the VA a bad name.
[judy stephens souther] - this is criminal
[grandmother caring] - they are to busy partying
[jean thompson] - Shameful, and always has been.
[steve harrison] - Delay and Deny till they die is the VA's motto! Vets have known Govt run health care is bad for years! Looks like the rest of you are going to find out soon!
[illinois gun and concealed carry rights] - Great Lakes VA in North Chicago is a filthy mess. I wouldn't take my dog there for treatment. Half the people working there can barely speak English. 12 years in the Corps and this benefit is useless to me.
