[Brenda Knight Lawrence] - Ok people all the ones that want to complain about DOH jump in your car put a plow on it and you work on these roads for 15 hours let's see how long you last. As a wife and daughter of two DOH supervisors I know how hard they work and put their life's on the line to clear these roads. I pray every day they come home safe as well as state and all city workers. I think them for everything they do!! God Bless Them and Watch over all of them!!!
[Jessica Hensley] - If it's so dangerous why hasn't the governor declared a state of emergency and that NO vehicles be on the roads except emergency responders?
[Lana James Miller] - Yes the state road drivers work round the clock if nessecary to keep roads safe and clear. These drivers are personal friends of mine as I too work for the state road...They go until they can not physically go anymore..They are to be comemded!
[Tonya Thompson] - Hope all our State and City workers are kept safe tonight as they work the roads and get salt to those in need......
[Alicia Clark] - They try so hard to keep the roads clear for us in Logan county. I appreciate all the workers that try to keep us safe. I hope the driver is okay!
[Jessica Hensley] - Oh, wait. I know the answer to my own question. Our state waits at least 8 hours after notification of a public emergency prior to declaring anything. Silly me. We will get that SOE around 10pm.
[Tyler Vernatter] - My dad drives those truck and is out in those roads now trying to keep them clear just so people can get where they need to with out major problems
[Frank Adams] - Please do not be critical of the salt truck drivers.
[Doug Jackson] - My hats off to em they r doing a damn great job
[Crystal Kimble] - Miller thats right, my husband has already been out there 15 hrs. He is a salt truck driver for city of charleston.
[Twila Blake] - My son drives a salt truck. It can a really dangerous job ! He has shared a few stories
[Diane Hill-Blake] - You know it's bad when the salt truck wrecks.
[Ocie L Fouch Harris] - This reminds me of my dad Joe Dotson when I was a young girl... it was nothing for my dad to go out at 1 or 2 in the morning to plow and salt the roads so people would be safe this is how it snowed when I was young ... I was just remembering my daddy and the kind of work he did to take care of his family and he only had one leg got his other leg cut off in the coal mines when he was 21 years old he worked so hard for mom and us kids I miss you dad and mom you both was the best <3 <3
[Chea Pugh] - My fiance is on his way to work now for his 12 hour shift with DOH here in Fayette County. We have at least 6 inches already and more coming down. I worry about him all night while he's out there plowing and salting. Prayers for the safety of all the state road workers, wrecker drivers, ambulance and fire departments, police, and more that have to be out in this. Granted....it IS WV and it IS winter.
[Brenda Knight Lawrence] - Thanks Chuck!! Not many people realize how hard their job is. Iv seen these men lose their life why working for DOH and many come close to it. Iv seen my husband sent off to other counties for weeks at a time when it snows really bad why Im left at home with the baby's with no power but it's his job and loves it and never complains about it. We had a son in the hospital one year for two weeks but he worked to get them roads cleared off to get them safe for everyone. The mountains Iv seen that my husband has almost went over has made my heart stop and said thank you to God for bringing him home to my. I'm as protective of DOH workers as family's of coal miners are to theirs. Thank you to everyone who respects and appreciates what they do !!!
[Lori Pitcock] - My man is a state driver he working till sleep n work is all he has time for 1 of his unit run off road last night here in Indiana n had to be pulled out n yes I don't think ppl realize just how dangerous their jobs are n when they do wrong everyone notices that but don't think twice at all the good they do just so the roads are safe for them to get places I thank each one every where that drive those trucks and I also know how it feels to be the spouse sitting at home praying they stay safe with Gods hands of protection over them and also watch them come in so tired they don't eat just go to bed to get up 8 hrs later n do it all over again so yes they deserve a prayer n respect cause driving them trucks for hours on end is hard on the body too so it's easy to talk but wait till you walk in their shoes or their wives shoes either
[Lori Pitcock] - Taking a day off is never a option what if they did an your loved one got sick needed a ambulance couldn't get through cause they took day off so you see a lot of ppl depend on them so God plz in all states keep our loved ones safe and the women peace
[Sandra Engle] - I'm glad he is ok you men's do a great job an put your all life on the line I pray for you all be careful on those bad roads
[Timothy Linde] - When the roads are packed with snow even after plowing and you feel it slide even a little it's time to call it a day because it'll only get worse.
[Tina E Hitchcock] - Crystal Kimble hope you're husband is safe out there as well as all the other salt truck drivers
[Charles Fox] - Bad when salt trucks wreck!
[Gloria Snyder] - Yes and even if it is only a couple inches..with frigid temps..blowin snow and ice underneath it can be very dangerous.I appreciate what they do
[Ness Smith Perry] - They are doing a great job they put thir lives in danger I would just like to say thank you all
[Russ Carol Lein] - Ok when 2 salt trucks wreck its called stay off the road
[Brenda Knight Lawrence] - I know my father also worked for DOH for many years and this past year he retired. It's a life I'm use to. Watched my mom stay up all night until he came home safe to us.
[Jennifer Mollohan Hill] - no kidding.. why is everyone required to go to work if its so dangerous
[CL Higginbotham] - I hope everyone gets home safe.
If you don't absolutely need to drive don't!
Unfortunately I had to be out on these roads earlier, and they were awful.
I can only imagine what they must be like now.

[Janet Prater] - Thank God he is ok.
[Virginia Asher] - my husband nearly lost his life a few years ago salting roads in mingo county, he went over horse pen mountain, it is only by the grace of God that he is alive.the doh workers risk their lives for little money and not much thanks!
[John Daniel Martin] - No tires chains.. no plow.. wtf
[Ruby Pridemore] - so glad I don't have to drive in weather like that .
[Paula Brewer] - Needless to say the roads did not get salted.
[Tim Chisom] - On the bright side, that resident won't have to cut grass in the culvert for quite some time!
[Carole Workman] - I don't know any doh drivers personally but I thank God for each and everyone of them and for the dangerous job they do.
[Jackie Robison] - i dont think the gov should have to declare a state of emergency, ppl should stay off the roads, they need to use some common sense
[Ronald Dotson] - If the roads are dangerous workers should be just like school take the day off
[Val Melton] - so now that is 2 salt trucks one earlier in Huntington and now this one. seems people need to stay home
[Debbie Paterson] - Glad I changed my travel plans!
[Shawn Nehuatl Cardenas] - Stay safe everybody
