Glad ya'll loved the story "No Cable, No Problem," but we have a question for those of you who've cut the cord... how do you get major sports events? Live news? Leave a comment about "how you view" below. (original story: http://bit.ly/1gocN7f)

[suzie sparks] - I haven't had cable or satellite in over 6 years. I don't miss it at all. If there's a sporting event I feel I can't live without watching I just go to a bar and grill to view it. I don't miss award shows at all. I get all my news from FB or news apps. I will also note that I have 9 and 10 year old sons that have never complained about not having it. We do, however, have Netflix.
[kristi jensen] - I haven't had cable for over a year and don't miss it at all! I get my news from various sources, don't care about sports and don't need "live" news to live lol I have more time to do REAL things and spend less time inside. It's perfection, more people should wake up to this life ^_^
[tracy mossing] - I'm a nursing student so I haven't had cable for about 6 years. I read the news online and I don't watch sports, so that's not an issue for me. Cable is very much overrated in my opinion.
[mary rodgers everly] - I love not having a big cable bill!! Free tv is for me:) I raised my grandaughter without cable. She only watched the cartoons on channel 30 and she learned and much more.. No sponge bob on pbs!!!
[john f. mac murray] - i used to have cable , the bill just kept going up and up so now I just have farmer vision I only get 11 24 36 and PBS , cant do the $90.00 just for TV !
[connie morgret] - No cable here for years. We have a roof antenna. We get a lot of channels. 11, 13, 24, 27, 30, 36, 40 from Toledo. 10, 47, 53 Lansing/Jackson. Plus all of their extra channels. e.I. 13-2, 30-2, 30-3 etc. for a total of 24. FREE!
[diane terry] - No cable since 2011. We stream Netflix and Hulu for movies and TV shows, pick up news on-line and don't watch sports. No regrets and more money in my pocket.
[kendra tracz] - We only have Netflix. If we want to read/watch the news we use the internet. Way cheaper and less garbage that my 5 year old might see.
[vickie maddox pauken] - We also use an antenna. Think about it though...figure out how much you pay a year for cable. You could buy tickets and see quite a few sporting events live for the same price.
[orvil barnes] - Why cant WTOL upload the newscast even with commercials like you do for the weather? I would love to go watch the newscast at anytime or re-watch it at times. Today, online is so convenient.
[elisabeth morris] - I have buckeye cable and Netflix and hulu i watch it all
[abbi kalb] - Rabbit Ears, netflix and live internet streaming
[nikki kollman-baker] - I couldn't live without my DirecTV. Lol
[cheryl diane cover] - Antenna TV, and don't miss cable. Get sports online if we want it or visit friends like was said before. We get local live news over the air no problem. No cable or satalite bill is great!
[nick baxter] - There is an App for that! All the major networks, espn, big 10 and nbcsports. We don't really miss a beat.
[elizabeth hill] - We have an antenna and then either stream things online or visit friends for sport events. Always more fun with friends!
[mandie chastain] - It sucks when the only time we can see the nascar race is when its on fox or abc.
[erica merryman] - We don't have cable we have internet for Netflix and Hulu and we have an antenna for local channels
[amy rhoads] - We get the sports channels on digital antenna, the rest with Ruku, Hulu+ and netnflix.
[paige silberhorn] - Local channels for news but mostly the internet. There is a website off US soil that broadcasts pretty much any sports you want. We don't need the Sunday Ticket anymore, can get all the Red Wings games and so much more. Haven't had cable/satellite for at least 3 years now. We do pay $50 a year for Jet flicks though. We can watch all our favorite shows like Sons of Anarchy, walking dead, alpha dogs, etc. BEST $50 I'VE EVER SPENT!!!
[trisha fleitz truman] - We just don't watch tv. It was tough at first, but we'll never go back.
[lisa wilson] - Well, we have never been big sports fans except for Baseball! Go Tigers! So its never been a problem. If there was a game on we would listen to it on the good ol' radio, or go to the local bar to watch it! =)
[marie arnold] - Roku, antenna, internet....facebook
[teri aldred] - I have bunny ears and a box..we watch local networks and PBS... just like the old days.... and it is so easy ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS.... 10 years!
[dena foreman] - just wait for you to post lol
[laura bowsher seiverth] - Got rid of cable 6 years ago. Antenna for local news and sports (right now Olympics, unlike my friends with Buckeye Cable). If it's an ESPN event we go to a local restaurant and watch there. Saving $90 a month can buy you a lot of dinners out.
[gayla rinehart ables] - I really hate the sports on your station right now , broadcasting the Olympics telling us who did and didn't win metals, before we can watch and see it ourselves, that sucks, and takes the fun out of it
[raven aria crotty] - Easy. Cell phone
[marilyn long smith] - Haven't had Direct tv for years. Netflix, channel 11,13,24,36 and pbs
[kelly delp] - We see live news through regular antenna. We see as many sports that way too and the networks website such as espn, fox and so on
[stephen fischer] - You can watch tv and movies online, for free...I would share the site, but it won't display properly. Every time I tried sharing the site on facebook, the comment disappears...
[gina graziano-turner] - Easy! Online streaming!
[kellie noble sharpe] - Sporting events we go to a restaurant or to a friends house. As for watching live news we have an antenna so we can watch you guys.
[julia sparagowski] - i don't watch sports anyway, so no loss. I keep up on news on my phone. living life is more fun than watching any tv show.
[kim whiteman shaw] - Don't care about live sporting events, I get news updates through Facebook, apps on my phone,or the Internet. Haven't had cable in about 5 years. Just watch Netflix. Hulu, and Apple TV
[steven amos] - I steal my neighbors cable.
[kevin amos] - At Mary - if you can arrange pickup, I can get you a digital ready flat screen plasma TV, I think they are 40 - 42"
[justis sievert] - Toledo news now on Facebook, I also have a digital antenna, netflix and amazon prime that I watch via my Nintendo wii, xbox, or wireless blueray player
[eric newman] - Go to sports bar like jeds or bdubs
[tisha charon] - one of the channels on our converter box showed a game but other than that we can't watch sports
[jane arnett] - Our lives don't revolve around sports so we get the news after. Sometimes we can stream it on line. News, they break in the show we are watching or we see a post on Facebok.
[mary radcliffe] - After getting rid of cable . I found out my tv is told for a converter box. So I havent had tv since Dec 4. No computer just a cheap cell I can do FB on & some internet. Wtol your FB pages works fine but your links never work for me.Ch 13 links work so not sure why yours dont.Dont really miss it either...
[shannon preller] - News I watch local channels sports I dont watch anything except nascar most of the time I'm at bowling or we watch it at my husband's uncles house
[nancy renninger-banks] - I tried one of those digital antenna it won't work just sent it back stuck with direct tv. Live 50 miles from Toledo. Any suggestion would be appreciated
[jared keebz kaelber] - Live news = Twitter and Facebook but I use Simple.tv as a tuner. Sporting events same way (simple.tv)
[richard kohli] - I really don't watch sports, I'll watch if I go to it in person. The one sport that I do watch, rugby, is live streamed and recorded and posted on youtube...GO ALL BLACKS!!! When it comes to live action news, I listen mostly to NPR in the morning and get the headlines and if you saw my news feed on facebook...it is mostly a news feed, WTOL, WNWO, NY Times, Time, Newsweek, ESPN, Salon and so many more.
[robin jones] - Not into sports. Watch the news on the local TV channels over the air or read online news.
[brigit fields] - You can watch anything online. We even streamed in the red zone from our computer to the tv. Not as good of a picture as cable but hey it's free! Well except the internet. Lol
[clint lowe] - i've been without cable for 3 years and I only miss it for a couple of shows... but I can get them on the cw app or netflix. I read more books now. I dont miss cable. Crappy shows and you are the mercy of programmers.
[anna barnes] - You can buy nfl shows from their website on nfl.com they also cut deals mid season. These games are live.
WTOL NEWS 11: Glad ya'll loved the story "No Cable, No Problem," but we have a question for those of you who' - 50th Comments
[kye dixon] - Internet live stream
[melissa baer] - I grew up without cable I am 26 years old now. I have had cable for about 3 years now and to be honest it's nice to have cable but I survived when I was a kid! We would watch the local news and read a newspaper for news or hear it from school. I played outside more and enjoyed time with friends instead of watching TV all day. I think it shouldn't be the focal point for getting information. It wasn't for me most of my life and I didn't miss anything. I think my childhood was better without cable.
[sarah renee] - Haven't cable on over 6 yrs. Don't care about sports. News is in radios papers Facebook. We rent DVDs for free from library. Buy DVDs we really like. Life is better out all the proproganda and crap on TV cable etc.
[susan carr] - internet, local library for free movies and documentaries
[schauna sniegowski] - A converter box :) still get local news channels, pbs (bonus for my son), and MeTV.
[kathy caldwell marchlewski] - wish we could cut the cord but when our bill went outrageous for just television we changed companies so we went from DirecTV to Time Warner Cable. The first week we had Time Warner it was a customer service nightmare and DirecTV called and told me they would give me all these things and even cut my bill with them, I told them that we would see how Time Warner worked out over the weekend and would call them back on Monday if their customer service hadn't improved. Needless to say, we called DirecTV and said yep we will go with what was offered. Then I needed them to come back out because people like to play with the satellite around here so they needed to come back and set it. I learned because we agreed to their offer the lady set us up with another 2 year contract and I went off...but now we have to wait I think 2 August before we can switch up because my hubby doesn't want to pay off the contract and get out of it to cut the cord but in two years we will be set!!! if this ability is still available
[jon dillabaugh] - NFL Sunday Ticket via Madden Special Edition is all I needed with my broadband! What other sports are worth watching??
[steve doust ii] - I use a digital antenna and netflix. For other sporting events there are places online to view for free and I can stream to my tv with chromecast.
[kris chalfin henninger] - We cut cable about a year ago. We use antenna to get channels 11, 13, 24, 30, & 36. We miss cable with the sporting events, but the price is just more than we care to pay.
[destiny kloepfer] - The internet or mobi apps...enough networks post live feeds that we don't need cable it's too pricey and anything we are missing out on, we catch up via network websites later ;)
[aj potter] - Just Netflix here and local tv over the digital antenna. If and when I watch the news which is very seldom it's on that. And I don't watch sports. Don't miss my bill
[joni crawford frankart] - We don't watch sports and we still get channels 11 and 13 for news. I get news feeds on my Facebook page too
[steve leck] - Glowgaze.com...free site new movies and TV series best site I've ever seen
[lynn lytle folk] - Sports? What's that?
[andy dickerson] - cable is way way way to much cash. you can buy a new car with few yrs without cable. i hope they go broke if the ppl would not lose there jobs!! aint had cable in 10 yrs. whats cable?? do they play movies on that channel???
[scotty greenwood] - old fashioned radio..kinda nice reading listening to a game, and online evryting else .
[stephanie r. weirich] - No cable or the rest of that jazz - radio and the internet provides as for most sports - meh - my world hasn't stopped spinning without them ;)
[micah a randall] - Cell Phone. Duh!!
[kristina kawalski] - I watch at my boyfriend's house. Cable is a rip off. I only watch a few certain shows (football) and spend the rest of my time with my family, working, hobbies, or outdoors (when it's above 65 degrees) lol
[emily bodmer] - We only have the internet on our phones. We get important updates from family & Facebook <--- sadly
[cynthia j miller] - I only have 4 channels, and I get fox sports and local channels. I set
[holly grimes] - We haven't ever had cable. We have an antenna and Netflix. All the major channels via antenna so we catch the local/natioal news that way.
[kristina roberts-harris] - They have antennas that plug into the hd tvs. You can get your local channels that way as long as you have wireless internet. If your tv is wireless less than $50 bucks for the antenna.
[andy papenhagen] - I go to Fricker's Defiance
[billy madatchu] - people stream it online all the time..
[carter roth] - firstrowus1.eu/ works pretty good for most live sports on a mac :)
[carissa henson] - We just use rabbit ears... old fashioned was good enough before and it still is.... back to the basics
[carol zimmerman yonov] - We've always really enjoyed the Olympics and watched as much as possible. Our tv is in an entertainment center so we haven't been able to attach an antenna. I'm so tired of watching the food channel as it seems most of the regular channels are showing repeats. I'd just like to turn the thing off and learn to live without it at all.
[amanda sherrick] - If I need to know anything going on in the news I just check my Toledo News Now app :)
[christopher miller] - If i want to watch a major sports event. I'll either go to the sports bar like frickers. Also, I'll see if i can watch it at my dad or a friend house and have some good times/memories.
[amy horton] - For sporting events we go to a restaurant. Nice meal and we can watch the game.
[becca eddins] - Don't watch sports, and get most news stories from apps or news websites.
[barb kinder] - Fb and score mobile
[cordie stone] - It's called an antenna...
[jeff brown] - Haven't had cable or any television since 2008. Just got Netflix 6 months ago. Not big on t.v. In the army didn't have time for it and kept it that way after I got out. You would be surprised how fulfilling your life can be with no t.v. I get online for 3 hrs a week for news and send a message to some military friends but other than that I have hobbies.
[kelly shaffer] - They have aps where you can watch sports live abc ap lets you watch news live every day several times a day for free
[anne gunn-cowens] - We learn the results on the news!
[jamie stallsworth lincycomb] - I have a regular digital antenna - I get all the local stations (live news and big sports events) :-)
[john jerome] - I'm a news hound and love my sports. Not a big movie watcher. Don't feel I can get what I need from my computer in news and sports. Cable bill is nothing but a glitch on the radar screen. Has to be one the smallest I have. Whatever works for you as an individual is what you'll use.
[toni hartman] - We don't have cable. Only get about 5 or 6 local channels. Don't watch much tv. I subscribe to the breaking news alerts on my iPhone. I couldn't care less about sports. Hubby listens to hockey games on his phone sometimes.
[melissa karma titta-graden] - That web or phone
[jolaine mcgrath lehan] - We love sports and would love to dump our direct tv...i love the comments so i can comvinve the rest of my family it will b ok
[lori rosado] - we aren't big sports fanatics, but for things like the superbowl, we watched it at a friends house. "live news" i check our local news website for news and weather. to watch our favorite tv shows, we use netflix and hulu! i seriously dont miss paying outrageous prices for crappy channels.
