Tonight on RTV6 News at 11, Call 6 Investigator Stephen Dean shows you what tipped off one mother and why she hauled her son to the police. Would you turn your child into officers if you found her buying illegal drugs?

[gina ford-hankins] - YES I WOULD!!!!!!!!!
[andy sapp] - Yep I have before, twice.
[penny merideth] - In a heartbeat!!! And then hope & pray it was enough to scare her off ever doing it again.
[charles dake] - I would do what I could to Stop it in the name of Jesus Christ!
[senior majestic] - Since no else has the balls: what's the website???
[ricki l crandon] - Good Question. Depends was it the first time, was it for her or a friend? Then after all the facts I would decide. Gonna get flak from this response!
[candice bullock] - yes, i would. that's ridiculous. That makes me worry about what the worlds going to be like for teenagers when my daughter is one.
[jen griesel morris] - In a heart beat.
[melissa weaver laffey] - absolutely without even a second thought.
[cynthia reitz] - hell yes, i would turn my child in. they do something stupid they we find out the consequences.
[debbie dodson] - why cant the police/fbi stop it?
[katie garber] - I guess it depends on the circumstances. More than likely my kids would prefer to be in jail vs dealing with me if they did that.
[betty catherine burns smith] - in a New York minute
[drew madtson] - Yeah , turn your kid over to officer Bisard
[mark christian] - Prohibition with alcohol didnt work in the 20's and the prohibition now isn't working. What makes anything think it would possibly work for some reason? Use some common sense folks-not everything "illegal" is immoral and not everything "legal" is moral.
[beth corbett rooks] - I turned my son in for stealing they did nothing to him but it scared the $hit out of him to the point he was on his knees crying at 16 years old didn't steal from me again
[stephani thompson] - ^Bravo Mark Christian!
[dan ferrell janice fronczkowski-ferrell] - Yes it will teach them a lesson.
[deacon aspects] - no, but Im not sayin I would not do something to stop my kid either~~~see here's the thing~~~you can get your kid sober, the damage the legal system will do, NEVER GOES AWAY
[robert garrett] - If i catch someone selling my kid drugs i would beat them till they couldnt walk!
[greg hunter] - Kids even in their 20's need direction, compassion, hope, understanding and parents aware. Time in jail does not provide correction. Kids are not hardened criminals.
[deacon aspects] - to all the ones sayng yep~~~~what makes you believe jail is not MORE dangerous than the drug
[iris shaimara shepard] - Yes I would in a heart beat right after I give him a piece of my mind
[brionna lynn alford] - ^^^ @Mark Christian I completely agree. Not to mention that about 1/3 of young drug users do it because their parents do.
[deacon aspects] - and BELIEVE ME~~~you want it MORE dangerous than the drug~~because you want the murderers, rapists, child molestors there too~~~~do you really want your kids there for making a stupid decision? Is that what you think of them?
[deacon aspects] - You don't get to pick who they are around once they are in jail~~~~and jail IS NOT REHAB
[nikki graham pickett] - You would turn your 16 yr old over to the cops? You will run three life...16 will end up in adult court and have a drug charge forever...never getting a decent job and never being able to rent a house or an apt. because of a stupid mistake as a teen. Maybe you should be watching what going on in you kids lives. He should have been punished but the cops?
[seth moore] - total bad parenting +++! if you cant deal with your kids prolbem ...dont have them !!!
[steve freels] - Define drugs...My G-Daughter was a loving child till she met Jesus, now she thinks she knows more than G-Pa.....I said bring Jesus over for a talk if he ain't fake.....still waiting. No Jesus...guess it's one of the mysteries, like the Nazi children turning their parents and Reagan drug war idiots turning in their children.
[deacon aspects] - Its just a simple fact~~~more times than not, jail does NOT teach them a lesson. The only thing they learn is how to be a better drug addict. MORE TIMES THAN NOT
[kathleen davenport] - Yes I did do it for my son but it didn't help him he had to learn it all on his own now that he is grown up and trying to find a job
[jay wade] - How do they find a hidden website?
[deacon aspects] - Its truly frightening to see how much some people hate their kids~~~~because you should HATE anyone you toss in jail
[deacon aspects] - its not like its the principles office or after school detention folks
[jodi schmollinger] - I've turned mine in.
[kathleen davenport] - My son was always breaking into places and stilling things and I tried to help him once it got so bad they were waiting for him and there was a chance he could have been shot. It is not always the parents fault for what their kids do
[nita dixon] - Well I don't think I would take my child in and have him/her booked. But I sure would have them all the way to the front door befor I let them know I wouldn't. Parents sometimes haft to make a point.
[jeff evans] - Ok why can't they stop something illegal, you get a couple of citizens or LEO's make the purchase and bust em, same thing they do day in and day out with child molesters online and drug dealers.
[thomas wheeler] - pointer for all you genius parents. When you put a bunch of pol together that have made bad choices you usually get them to NETWORK AND MAKE MORE BAD CHOICES. Common sense you such smart people. One day everyone will learn.
[jeff evans] - Park a couple of LEO's outside the business, bet they don't sell anything then
[jake gable] - depends what it was
[millie j grams] - Absolutely and they know it!:-)
[fredia ann burkhart] - absolutey yes i would if as a mother its my responsibility to make sure my kids are safe from harm of any kind i hate the thought of any parent looseing their kids to druggs or any type of death if i could id stop every drugg dealer in the world but thats not gonna happen until we first clean up our homes and streets stop letting kids become victims and help put a stop to this epidemic in our beautyful country i say moms dads every where should closely monitor youre kids their doing things like this put them in jail teach them its wrong to kill and do this crime its illegal its deadly please stop deadly druggs from comeing in contact with our kids as a mom im really truely gonna commit my self to reporting such drugg tranactions in my area of life
[ken owens] - Turning your child over to the justice system should always be your last resort. Any parent that does that as a first step is making a horrible mistake. The Justice system is not there to help your child. It's there to incarcerate them. How's that rehabilitation working out for everyone else that's been down that road? The state is not your kids daddy or mommy.
[tammie stock] - By reading some of the parents post on here explains why the kids are a mess and don't make good decisions! All change begins with the parents and morals!
[kelley davis] - Deacon if a parent loves their kids they would do what it takes to protect them. If my child bought anything illegal off the internet, especially drugs or a weapon, I would turn them in in a heartbeat. Drugs can kill as well as a weapon so I see it as protecting my kid as well as someone else who may be injured. I also would want to shine a light into these websites. I know I risk the chance of alienating my child but they would be safe and alive. I do agree that jail is not rehab but if your child has never been in a jail then it may scare them enough to change.
[nelly nell nelson] - The website is called the Silk Road. You need to download Tor Browser to access it which is free. It uses a method called onion routing which makes it hard to track you and your online activity. However, it is really slow because it depends on how many nodes(places you can connect) and there aren't a lot of them. Anyways, Onion routing was developed by the US Navy for WWII because it prevented the enemy from determining where messages where coming from, who they were being sent to, and if that message was new or not. It works by sending the message to multiple destinations, and only the place that is suppose to receive it will be able to read it. It is used in China to avoid the internet blackout, by the rebels during the Egyptian rebelling a few years ago, and other rebels who avoid government sanctioned internet black out. That's how we get a lot of images and videos of foreign governments doing illegal things to rebels. You can also use it to find secret websites like the Silk Road which sells illegal drugs. You can also use it for other illegal things like hiring a hitman(usually an undercover police sting or someone who is going to scam you), trading and distribution of child pornography, and illegal sharing of stolen downloaded movies, music, books, and other media. This has been around for a long time.
[kara archer speckman] - Most definitely. They won't learn just by a parent's "talk" or grounding
[durkha drs] - This ^^^^^ is the only guy in this tread that even has a clue what's going on. Use a tor browser, buy some bit coins, and you're anonymous.
[kara archer speckman] - Nelly Nell Nelson why in the world would you even want to put this information out there for all the youth to see? Disgraceful!!!! You should delete that info ASAP
RTV6 (WRTV - Indianapolis): Teens can buy illegal drugs, pornography, even weapons from a hidden online marketplace. Police - 50th Comments
[renae salter scanlon] - Hell yes, I would!
[joyce bussard] - Yeah cause they could get help to get off!!
[nelly nell nelson] - Kara Archer Speckman, the information is easily found on the internet. It's been around and made public for a long time. If you don't know its probably because you're not adept with computers and technology. I'm 26, but younger people will find out from many other sources no matter what you do.
[renae salter scanlon] - Actually, it's good to be ahead of the game. If my child were doing that, I'd want to know what they were doing and exactly how they were doing it. So thanks Mr. Nelson
[christian a. peek] - I am a 17 year old boy. I have just recently been kicked out of my families house. Partly the reason being smoking cigs, and drugs, now with that being said, my first job, was at the age of 15 and I then became the manager at Baskin Robbins. I then continued to excel in my jobs by being a manager in training at almost every job I take. I have owned and managed my own lawn care business and have controlled my own finances, so I believe that if you want to throw your son or daughter in jail just because they may smoke a little weed here and there then you don't need to have kids. Kids will surprise you, they usually are more knowledgable as well. Education is way more advanced then what it was when you guys were in school. Just think about it...drugs like weed, aren't as bad...now if they are doing coke, meth, etc...then that's a whole different story.
[ken owens] - Half like Christian. I'm a bud smoker and militant about it. I'm in my 30's. Your brain is not done growing yet and subjecting it to all that bud smoke (I have no idea how much you smoke) will limit your mental abilities in the long run. Better to wait until you're a little older. So don't smoke too often young man! Good luck to ya. I have a feeling your brain is ok at the moment.
[chris martin] - Relax ppl it don't work that easy..
[teresa froedge sweat] - But.... why is the son on drugs???? you should know what your kids are doin all the time!!!! you should know who their friends are who they are hanging around with and also know their friends parents.I know before ny daughter goes anywhere I meet and talk to the parents and tell them what my daughter is allowed to do and what she isnt allowed to do !!!! call me being to strick or what ever but I want to know what my daughter is goin to be around!!!!
[mimi laredo roberts] - Good ol' ass whoopin
[james sweeney] - Hell yes I would right after I whipped her ass
[patrice davis] - Heck yeah, I would turn my children in to the authorities. I am their parent NOT their friend.
[charlene johnson] - I don't know that turning your child in helps them. Yes they will take them to jail then to the stress center for ten days. Then comes the money. If you don't have it they put them out on the street .so it all about money .so why not use your money to help them. Think before you put your child in jail
[mike henson] - He'll yes I would in a heart beat
[jeremy mcentire] - At least half of you saying oh hell yeah I would are lying to yourselves. When this situation presented itself you might find it a bit more difficult to send your son or daughter into the county jail.
[donna winsted] - I took my daughter to the store manager when I found out she had shop-lifted! And my mother did the same thing to me! I think that mother did the very best thing she could!!!
[edna fadely] - I took my 16 year old to the jail because she was drinking. She died at 34 due to alcohol . I took her to the hospital, Salvation Army, the mission downtown Indy. She still died at 34. Would I do it again? You bet.
[beverly honeycutt] - you were a good mother Edna Fadely hard decisions
[lue forte] - If your child has been given love throughout his life and he/she decides to behave in this manner. Its a parent's obligation to get the child help or what we call jail: a Transformation!
[colin burroughs] - A lot of you really trust the corrections system in this country. I'd never feed a child into that beast whore of a .gov we have, especially over beer or a joint. Do the parenting your self, and understand that individuals do infact have free will, even if they're your "baby". Some of your attitudes on this is so wrong minded, it's shocking.
[gene russell] - What a great idea. Lets put on TV news and advertise for the kids that don't know how or where. My kids fear the consequences they will face with me not the govt.
[mark payne] - Beating your kids isn't the answer in any situation. strong words work wonders
[melissa buterbaugh] - Im not a parent but i feel that i would do so as a last option only tho i would try everything else in the book first probably Quick ? Tho wtf is that orange stuff??
[lillie garrett] - Great, just something else to drive me crazy
[eve henry] - that would probably take more guts than I have.
[sharon k. hobbs] - YES, for their own good, then I would report the site.
[tammy mike krintz] - No doubt about it
[kathleen gray] - It beats finding them overdosed
[sue holland] - without a doubt.
[cindy dewar] - First I would beat their butt then take them to the cops.
[peggy brown] - They are going to catch them sooner or later if they don't OD first.
[phillip main] - you cant report the site, the police world wide already know about it and cannot find it.
[ney ney bennett] - I don't understand why " undercover" cops can't arrest this site and the people involved with it. This f- ing country is ridiculous!
[dallas-judith jo atkerson norman] - If I thought it would scare her straight!
[sophia d'eliso] - This girl is really asking why the cops can't arrest a site hahaha
[amanda jaynes] - www.lemonparty dot org
[darla bates] - Wow !!! What has the world turn in too
